We chatted for no less than a half an hour about Jordan. I was worried. When Tay was happy she would talk for hours. She seem disinterested. "You okay?" She nodded and sipped her coffee before looking at me for a moment, "Are you okay with this?" Guilt flashed through her eyes. Those eyes I also caught glancing at my lips off and on. "As long as you're happy I'm happy." I playfully hit her on the shoulder and smiled at her. She nodded and looked down into her mug. "I'm gonna go to bed.." She mumbled and I nodded, hugging her. "Okay.. knowing you, you'll probably be asleep when I leave for work. Wanna grab take-out tomorrow?" I yawned and stretched a bit while she smiled. "You know me so well."
"Duh." I kissed her cheek quickly before walking off to my room. I glanced near the trash can, "Where the fu-" I saw a crumpled piece of paper in the trash can and just shrugged, assuming I did make my trash basket earlier. I barely slept at all that night, tossing and turning, plagued by nightmares of all sorts. I wished I could crawl up with Tay like I usually did, but she didn't seem in the mood tonight. Eventually the alarm clock rung, signalling the beginning of my boring day. I got dressed and showered and everything. As usual, I opened Tay's door a crack to see if she wanted coffee or anything. She was sound asleep, curled up in something I recognized as an old hoodie she probably stole ages ago. Adorable. With an eyeroll and a smile I walked out and began my drive to work.
Hours later I was finally home. Done with another day and ready to hang out with take-out and Tay. Probably watching Disney movies all night and passing out on our couch. It's Friday night and neither of us had work the next day. Don't judge. I shut the door as I made my way inside our apartment, "Take-out time?" I heard no answer. "Tay?" I heard a door open. "I'm coming, I'm coming." I looked her up and down, "That doesn't look like proper attire for bestie night." She pouted, "One quick thing I gotta go do. I'll grab food on the way home." She nodded, "I wa-" She cut me off before I could tell her with a smile, "I already know what you want. I shall return." She hugged me, placing a kiss on my cheek, before turning and walking out the door. I changed out of the clothes I wore to work, switching into comfy movie watching clothes. I laid down for awhile, sleeping for maybe a half an hour before waking up. Tay texted me telling me she was done with her errand and driving across town to our favorite food place. "Be home within an hour hopefully. I love you!" I smiled at the quick text and stood up. "Was this here before?" I mumbled, seeing a letter on my desk. It was folded, but still, I was curious as hell.
(Y/N),
I may or may not have taken that crumpled paper. I also may or may not have read it. The world may never know. But you probably wonder why I ditched a little bit of bestie night. I shall tell you why at the end of this letter. All I know is, I love you, (Y/N). More than anything. More than the music and the band. You're my everything. My happiness and my heart. I was so stupid for cheating once. And, god, I was the dumbest idiot on the planet for doing it multiple times. They're right, yanno? You don't know what you have until it's gone. I had everything until the day I lost you. I didn't know then that it would hurt like a bitch to lose you. I was stupid and thought you'd forgive me no matter what. I know better now. All I want is you. You. Only You. And if you're willing to give me another chance I will not pass that up. I love you.. And I'm going to be better this time. Just you and me. I promise. As for why I left for a little.. Well. Besides getting food anyway. I'm going to see Jordan. I'm going to tell him it's over. No more relationship, hookups, nothing. I only want you. And I hope I can prove that to you.
Love,
Tay
I felt the tears well up in my eyes again, but I didn't stop them. This was happening. Really happening. I heard a door open, "Honey I'm hoooommmeeee!" Followed by her infectious laughter. I happily walked into the kitchen, taking the two large containers from her hands and setting them on the counter. "What's got you in such a helpful mood?" She raised an eyebrow at me and I just pulled her in closer, kissing her deeply. We held onto each other like our lives depended on it. "I love you, Tay." She opened her eyes and looked up at me, "You read my letter?"
"Yes, I did. And I love you. This time.. let's stay together, okay?" She nuzzled her face into the crook of my neck, whispering against my skin, "I never wanted us to end in the first place.." The rest of that night was spent like every other Friday night. Stuffing our faces and watching old Disney movies. Except now.. We were laying in each other's arms feeling content and happy for the first time in forever.
