The gun shot rang out and I felt the anger pool inside of me. Lincoln, one of my best friends, now lay in a pool of his own blood. I tried to run off and kill the one who had done it, but I felt a hand grab my own and looked into the eyes of Octavia Blake. She was shaking and tears ran down her face as she fell to her knees and pulled me down with her. I held her as she cried, "I loved him.. Why couldn't I save him?" I couldn't answer her because I had no words besides the anger I had in my heart. "Come. We both need some rest." She wiped her eyes and looked down, "I.. I don't want to walk.. Can.. Can you?" She looked up at me and I pulled her up onto her feet. "I can give you a piggyback ride? I'm hoping that term means what I think, I just heard it used by Skaikru." She laughed and jumped onto my back. We walked for awhile in silence and she leaned her head down onto my shoulder. "Where are we going?"

"Back to my village so we can rest."

"Lincoln's village....?" She questioned softly and I nodded, "Yes. We were close friends him and I." In order to pass the time I told her stories of our youth. We trained together to be warriors and grew up with our families so close we could almost be siblings. "When he asked me for help to take care of a sky girl I was hesitant, but when I saw you I knew. He had fallen for you. I helped him as much as I could and here we are." She smiled slightly and I let her off my back as she walked into my tent. "Do you wish for me to sleep on the floor?" She looked up at me and back to my bed before shaking her head, "I.. I don't want to sleep alone. Please?" I nodded and laid next to her. She held onto me tightly and I played with her hair, humming quietly to tunes in my head. "Do you still see me as a sky girl?" She looked up to me, biting her lip gently. "No. You are a warrior. Like I am. Like Lincoln was. I can help train you to be better if you wish, but in my eyes you are a grounder." She smiled and whispered a quiet thank you before drifting off to sleep. The next morning I was awoken by Octavia. "Can we start training today?" She looked at me, excitement filling her eyes.

"I suppose we can. Do your warpaint, get dressed, grab your weapons, and we shall leave." I began getting everything done I needed and stood, watching her in wonder and amusement. I can see why Lincoln liked her so much. She is so beautiful yet strong like a warrior. I have seen her in battle a number of times, but she must be trained. I cannot lose her like we lost Lincoln. "What are you thinking about?" She stared at me in curiosity and I looked away. "Come, we must go." She nodded and followed me out of the tent and into a clearing. We sparred for a while and I was amazed by her skill, "He taught you well, but not well enough to beat me." I smirked from where i was currently straddling her with her wrists pinned and a knife to her neck. "Yeah yeah. Let's go again. Then.. archery?" I nodded and stood up before we went a few more rounds, her laughter one of the only sounds heard in the silent forest. I tried to teach her a bit of archery before the sun started to go down, "This will be our first lesson tomorrow, I promise." She pouted the whole way back to my tent, but smiled as we laughed and joked. We spent the majority of our days after that training her to be a warrior. She began to spar every once in awhile with a grounder at our camp. One particular day Indra walked up to me, "Why is the sky girl here?" She stood, glaring up at me. "I have trained her. She is a warrior. Look." She saw the way Octavia was moving, dodging attacks. Her speed was one of her best attributes. I smiled, proud of her accomplishments. "You have done well. She may stay." Indra nodded and walked off and a very sweaty Octavia walked towards me. "Let's say I go bathe and then I take you somewhere for a change?" I nodded and she walked off, her confidence was rather attractive. I walked back to my tent to grab fresher clothes because I as well had been sparring today. "Ready to go?" She held out a hand. I grabbed it, smiling at her, and nodded, following her lead. "The butterfly forest.." I whispered softly as I saw the familiar blue light surround us. "You've been here?" I nodded and wandered around before looking at her. She was smiling brighter than ever as butterflies danced around her. I walked towards her and she held me close, wrapping her arms around my neck. "(Y/N)?" I looked into her eyes, captivated, "Yes, Octavia?"

"I didn't ever think I could love anyone after Lincoln.. But.." She looked down almost embarrassed. "But?" I pushed. Her usual confidence seemed almost gone as nervousness took over. What on Earth could make Octavia Blake nervous? "But.. I think after all of these months of training and the nights of relaxation and happiness with you.. I've fallen in love." She smiled as the butterflies surrounded us and I leaned in to kiss her softly, not wanting to waste the moment. "Octavia, I have fallen for you. I never thought it was possible for me to love at all, but from the moment I carried you into my tent, I knew that something about you was special. Be mine?"

"Always." We swayed in the moonlight, surrounded by butterflies.
