Daydreaming

I propped my feet up on to of my desk. Everyone stared at me as the teacher, of this mind-numbingly boring class called math, growled out, "Feet. Off." I rolled my eyes and looked up at him. "And if I refuse?" I cocked an eyebrow and smirked at him as he sighed and turned around. He retrieved a piece of paper from his desk and began filling it out. All the while I saw the small redhead, who was still older than me by a few months (who isn't honestly), from the corner of the room staring at me. "Got a problem, Williams?" I asked. I didn't even turn to look at her and she whispered, "No.. umm sorry..." She bit her lip and her cheeks had a pale red glow to them. Sure, I'm a bitch. I always have been. Life is way more fun that way. I chuckled at her and her face took on a darker red color. "Office." The voice boomed and I saw him holding out the small slip. "Whatever, man." I grabbed my backpack and adjusted my leather jacket around my shoulders. The blushing girl next to me had finally returned to her pale complexion. "You couldn't have just put your feet down?" I shook my head and walked to the front of the room. Before exiting I turned, winked, and blew her a kiss.

~Hours Later~

"Remember, since it's your sixteenth birthday you'll start having the dreams tonight. If it's somebody you know you might be able to identify them easily. If not.. you're on your own kid." My mom patted me on the back as I pulled on an oversized sweatshirt to wear to sleep. Who needs pajamas? I closed my eyes and began to dream. It was just little details. The girl was small. Extremely pale. Her laugh was infectious. The only thing that frustrated me about these dreams is even though they went on night after night it was just the smallest details. Like her smile, with the small dimples at the corners of her lips. Her eyes left me in a trance. They seemed familiar. I was trying to put all of these pieces together like a puzzle in my mind. One night the dream was about her kiss. Another her touch. God, I had no clue who this girl was, but I wanted her. Needed her. Every night I was falling faster and faster. Then, I got the last little bit. I was running after her. That contagious laughter following her. When I looked up I spied a blur of her hair. A flash of red, almost like fire. I woke up that last night and quickly got dressed. "Mom!" I yelled into the hallway. She walked into the room and tilted her head. "Yes, dear?" I groaned at her use of the word and quickly remembered what I wanted to ask. "Do I look okay?" She smiled and crossed her arms in front of her chest. "You know her, don't you?" I blushed and pulled on my jacket. My dad's old leather jacket. "Maybe... umm.. Yeah?" I rubbed the back of my neck and she laughed. "You're so awkward yet a little badass. Just like him." She smiled at me and hugged me. "Don't let her go once you get her." I nodded and smiled. I looked at the picture on my dresser and brushed the dust off of it. "I won't, mom. I'll see you after school." She shook her head and handed me some car keys and cash. "Take the old mustang, buy her some flowers, take her out tonight." I looked at her, "What's wrong with my bike?"

"Can't make a move on a bike?" She winked and walked out of the room. I shoved the keys in my pocket and drove to the flower shop down the street. I paid for the bouquet and drove off to school. Now, to find her locker. I asked one of her friends, Taylor something, and he pointed me in the direction. I waited for a bit and she walked around the corner. "What are you doing here?" I blushed and held out the flowers to her. She smiled and took them from me before whispering, "My favorite.."

"I know I umm.." I trailed off and she grinned. "You had the dreams.. " I blushed more and stood up straighter. "You don't have to be so quiet." I tilted my head to the side and began to speak. She stepped closer and wrapped her arms around my neck. "Wanna test if the dreams were accurate?" How could such a shy, awkward girl suddenly be so bold. Maybe she was so awkward because she had the dreams before you and knew. I should've thought of that earlier. She pulled me down a little and stood up on her tip toes before kissing me. "Break it up.." A gruff voice said. I flipped them off and smiled into the kiss. "Got a problem, Williams?" I mumbled and she smiled back at me. "Only that you're not mine..."
