"Why do I have to come?" I sighed, staring at the girl in front of me. "Please, (Y/N)? You're my best friend. You always come to the Paramore video shoots." She pouted and looked up at me. "Yeah," I whispered this last part hoping she wouldn't hear, "But the Paramore shoots don't involve your asshole of a boyfriend." She sighed and walked off to her room before slamming the door. I rolled my eyes and sat on our couch, flipping through channels. We're best friends, don't get me wrong, but we can fight bloody wars and then five seconds later love harder than all the couples in the world. I leaned my head back and closed my eyes before hearing the creak of her door opening. "Are we still fighting?" I asked, knowing the response. "No.." She sighed and flopped down next to me, "I just don't understand why you don't like him." She sighed and rubbed her face with her hands. "You have met the guy, right? He's not exactly likeable." I rolled my eyes and heard the next words out of my mouth before I even felt myself speak them, "But I guess I'll go." I opened my eyes wide, shocked at my own words, as she threw her arms around my neck and hugged me tightly. I relaxed slightly in her arms, but I was mentally cursing myself for giving in. "We better go. The studio is allllll the way downtown." She stretched and I groaned as I picked up my keys. "No bailing now." She said, lacing her fingers with mine and dragging me to the car. As we drove she sang along to the record I had in my stereo and danced a little in the passenger seat. Every once in awhile she would give me directions if I looked lost or confused. I would catch her glancing at me from time to time with a small grin on her face, but she always does that. At least she usually does. When we pulled up outside the studio I let out a long sigh, "We're already here. No way you're backing out." She walked over to where I was leaning against the hood and held onto my arm as we walked inside. "Chad!" Hayley squealed as the taller boy made his way over to us. He glared at me and smiled at Hayley. Once again, just a normal exchange between us. "Hayley." He smiled. She gave him a look and moved my arm up a bit, "And?" She mumbled. "(Y/N)." He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms in front of his chest as she sighed, "A bunch of preschoolers I swear.." She whispered to herself. "Ready for hair and makeup, babe?" I cringed at the pet name and she nodded. He led us to a table where a woman, who I assume did hair and makeup, was waiting for her. She attempted to climb into the seat while holding onto my arm. I kissed the side of her head, ignoring Chad's growl, and whispered, "You might have to let go of my arm, dork." She blushed and laughed nervously, "Oh yeah..." She smiled at me before giving my arm back. As the woman, who I've learned is named Lee, finished Hayley's makeup she turned to me, "How does your girl look?" She flashed a grin and Chad decided he needed to speak up, "Well, MY girlfriend looks great." I slumped down slightly. Hayley looked at him and smiled, "Thanks, but (Y/N) isn't really biased by the whole girlfriend thing." She turns to me and I felt Chad glaring daggers into my back, "So?" She gestured to herself and tilted her head to the side, "You look great, Hayls." She smiled and I heard Chad mumbling what were probably threats from where he stood. "Well, (Y/N), you should probably go. Recording will start soon." Chad said in a sickeningly sweet voice as he forced a smile. "Why? She can watch." Hayley looked at him and he shrugged, "Wouldn't want her to throw you off."

"She doesn't. She makes me more comfortable on sets and stages." She smiled at me before looking at him, "Well, I could always tell you some things that might make you uncomfortable about her." He smirked at me. "Don't. You. Dare. Gilbert." I glared at him. She can't know. Not now. Not ever. I wasn't supposed to be in love with my best friend. I didn't even know I was until he pointed it out a few weeks ago. "What? What am I missing?" Hayley looked in between us. Chad pulled me to the side, "Either you leave or I tell her."

"Why do you hate me?"

"Because I don't like the fact you are in love with my girlfriend. And I just don't like you in general." He said through gritted teeth. He didn't like the fact that me and Hayley were as close as we were. I knew it. "Fine." I pulled my arm out of his grip, "I'll leave you two lovebirds to it. I'm heading home." I forced a smile on my face to stop the tears from falling. I didn't know what I was feeling, but it hurt every inch of me. "What? Why?" Hayley jumped down from her seat and walked over to me. "You told me you'd come watch." She tried to put her hands on my shoulders but I shrugged out of her grip. "I'll be at home." I turned and walked away, hearing bits and pieces of an argument between Chad and Hayley. "What did you do?" She practically yelled at him. What have I done? I sighed as I sat in my car for awhile just thinking. I slammed my hands against the steering wheel and pushed the speed limit as I drove home. I stomped up the stairs and slammed the door shut before going to my room. I laid on my bed, putting my headphones over my ears and plugging them into the stereo by my bed. I put my Ipod on shuffle and tried to get lost in the music when all I wanted to get lost in were her eyes. I didn't even hear her make her way in over the sound of the music. I opened my eyes for a second and saw her staring at me from the doorway. She had tears in her eyes and make up running down her face. We just stayed there for a moment, staring at each other, lost in each other. I set my headphones on the nightstand and crossed my arms behind my head. "Hey.." She shook her head and walked down the hallway. I followed quietly to find her leaning against the countertop. "Is it true?" She whispered, staring at the sneakers on her feet. "Is what true?" I sat on the counter and looked at her. "Why are you home anyway?" She looked up at me, "He told me that if I followed after you me and him were through. I responded with, 'At least she actually cares about me.' and he shot back with 'because she's in love with you.' He broke up with me. I came home." I nodded and tried to hug her, but she shook her head. "Is it true?"

"Is what true?"

"Are you in love with me?" I looked down and she stormed off to her room, slamming the door so hard I thought she broke it off the hinges. I walked to my own room doing the same. I resumed my earlier position that I had before, plugging my headphones back into the stereo and closing my eyes. I didn't even realize I fell asleep until I woke up a couple hours later. I made my way to the kitchen to make some coffee. Whether it's night or day it's always time for coffee. I heard the front door open and Chad stood in the doorway. "What the hell?" I stared at him. "Spare key." He grinned and I shook my head, not wasting a moment to grab it from his hand, "Not anymore."

"Give that back." He growled. "Get out of my house." I folded my arms in front of my chest and he shook his head, "This doesn't involve you."

"I don't believe you heard me. Get out of my house. Or I will call the police."

"She won't ever love you, you know?" I clenched my jaw and stared up at him. "Out. Now." He laughed as he walked out. I shut the door and locked it before taking my coffee and walked back to my room. I glanced at Hayley's door. It was still closed and all I heard was the faint sound of some record playing. I went and laid back on my bed, staring up at the ceiling. I felt her lay beside me, but continued to stare. His words stung. A lot. She was staring at the side of my face. "Why wouldn't you tell me?" She whispered. "Tell you what? That I'm in love with you?"

"Yes, (Y/N). It would've been nice to know, considering I don't know, I am your best friend. We're supposed to know everything about each other." I laughed slightly and stood up. "What was I supposed to say? When was I supposed to say it? What do you want from me, Hayley?" I felt the tears pouring down my face. All that was going through my head were the last words Chad said before leaving. She'd never love me. Why would she? "I want you to be honest with me." She was standing right in front of me. I could practically taste the lip gloss she was wearing. everything disappeared and before I knew it I kissed her. As soon as I realized what I had done I pulled away and backed up. My expression probably mimicked one of a deer caught in a car's lights. "I'm sorry.. I don't mean to feel like this.. I'm so sorry, Hayley." She was coming closer to me. "I'm sorry.." I shook my head and ran out the door, not realizing I had forgotten my keys until I got to the car. I began walking down the street, my mind clouding with thoughts of her lips. Just her. After what felt like hours she pulled up beside me in my car. "Get in. Please. We need to talk." I was scared of what was going to happen. I didn't want her to leave. I gave in and sat in the passenger seat silently. When we got back home she led me inside and into the kitchen. She sat on the table as I perched myself on the end on the countertop, playing with the ends of my hoodie sleeves. "Please look at me..." She whispered. I did as she asked and stared into her eyes. "Do you honestly love me, (Y/N)?" I nodded. "In more than a friend way?" I nodded slower, "So much more.." I whispered. She nodded and hopped off the table before walking towards me. "Are you really so oblivious that you can't realize I've been in love with you for years? The hand holding. The kisses, although nothing major, gave me butterflies. I only got with Chad because I felt like you'd never feel the same." She sighed as she ran her fingers through her hair. "W-what?"

"Wait... You seriously didn't know?" I shook my head and stared at her. "God," She smiled, "I thought you were just ignoring it." I shook my head and bit my lip, "Well, I love you, (Y/N). More than anything. I have since.. forever. And you mean the world to me." She pulled me down next to her and wrapped her arms around my neck. "And I was wondering.. if you'd be willing to try this out.." I nodded and she smiled, standing up on her toes to kiss me. "Although I'd love to kiss you forever, it's getting late. We should probably get some sleep." She smiled at me and I blushed. I walked back to my room and assumed she wouldn't follow, but she climbed underneath my covers and cuddled into me. "I could get used to this.." I muttered as I kissed her forehead. "This entire night has pretty much been something out of a chick flick." She laughed and laid her head down on my chest before closing her eyes, "It fits us though. We've probably seen every chick flick in existence." I smiled at her and brushed some of her hair out of her face. "I love you, Hayley.."

"I love you too, (Y/N)," She was silent for a moment before wrapping her arms around my waist and whispering, "It feels so good to hear you say it.." I turned out the light and we both fell asleep in each other's arms.
