It All Started By Accident

I didn't mean to stumble upon Octavia Blake, it was never my intention, but I still remember that first day I saw her. As many great things, our relationship not excluded, it all started by accident. My family was very close with Mrs. Blake and it wasn't exactly uncommon for me to want to hang out with Bellamy since I didn't have many siblings. So, like any other day, I went walking down the hallway towards the Blake's room and opened the door, shutting it behind me. "Who's that?" I pointed at the girl who looked about my age and Bellamy and his mom both looked at each other before she gave him a nod. "This is my little sister, Octavia, but you can't tell anyone about her." I nodded and walked over to her, "Hi I'm (Y/N)." She smiled up at me, I'd always been taller than her especially back then, and hugged me tightly. I hugged her back, watching as Bell and Mrs. Blake watched us happily. That was the first day of us being best friends. I knew that having two children on the Ark was a crime so I never said a word to anyone about her. We hung out pretty much every day and as we grew older I felt something different towards her. It was the most obvious on the day both of my parents were floated. After it happened I ran straight to their room and sobbed into her chest. She rubbed my back and held me close, whispering words to comfort me in my ear. "O, I'm all alone now.." I wiped my eyes, looking up at her. She brushed some hair out of my face and tucked it behind my ear, shaking her head, "You're never alone because you'll always have me." I fell asleep that night, exhausted after crying my eyes out, cuddled up next to Octavia on the floor. When I realized my feelings for her were growing I had Bellamy come to my room, "What's up, (Y/N)?" He asked, flopping down on my bed and looking up at me, "I need your advice on something." He raised an eyebrow, "Don't you usually go to Octavia for that? If it's about a boy though, know I'll kick his ass if he hurts you." I smiled at him as he sat up, "Not a boy, Bell. A girl.." I looked at him, hoping he'd catch on, but he looked confused. "I'm talking about Octavia. I.. I think I'm falling for her, Bellamy." He smiled, walking over to hug me, "You're shaking, (Y/N). It's okay. You just have to try and explain to her. "

"How?" He thought for a moment before speaking, "How about I get you two to the masquerade tonight? Do you have a dress and a mask?" I nodded, looking up at him, "She can't leave the room, Bell. You know that." He shook his head, walking towards the door, "It's one night. No one will know." He pressed a finger to his lips before walking out the door. Later that night after getting ready I heard a knock on my door, "Ready to go?" Bellamy asked, smiling. I nodded and followed him to their room, practically holding my breath as he opened the door, "Damn, (Y/N), looking good." Octavia smiled, walking towards the door. I smiled, "Not to bad yourself, O." and she followed me out the door. We walked by a window and she looked out at Earth, smiling brightly with curiosity in her eyes. I couldn't help but stare at her in awe, smiling at her, "Like something you see?" She smirked and I blushed and looked away from her. We walked into the masquerade and Bellamy smiled, letting us go explore. We danced and as a slower song started playing and she turned to me, "May I have this dance?" She grinned holding out her hand. I took it and smiled, "Why I'd love to!" I began thinking of my speech, realizing this was my time to be honest with the way I felt, but before I could sirens started going off. Bellamy looked at us, "Run!" He yelled, but we weren't fast enough and soon Octavia was being taken away in cuffs. I tried to push them off of her, but was quickly shock lashed to the ground. After that day I got heavily into drinking and drugs. I had officially lost everyone close to me and would refuse to talk to Bellamy because every time he would look at me all I could see was that night. Even in my dreams I would have to watch her fight against the guards as I fought to get to her. "Hey man, you zoned on us again." Jasper laughed, handing me a bottle, "Sorry, dude. Just thinking." He nodded, worry in his eyes, as I chugged back the rest of the alcohol we had. Eventually we started to run out of alcohol and weed and had to try and find other ways to get our high. I got to the point where I tried to steal morphine from med bay. Big mistake. The guard caught me faster than I thought they would and I ended up in cuffs walking through the security bay where they locked up all the minors. They were walking me to my cell and I was looking through the windows before we got to my cell. They stopped and i glanced back at the door before me and started yelling, "Octavia!" I banged on the door. She ran over to the door and stared at me wide-eyed, "(Y/N)!" She screamed before they pulled me into my cell and pushed me on the ground. I spit in one of the guards face and he sighed, "Do you have to make this difficult?" He walked out, slamming the door behind him. From then on me and Octavia communicated somewhat through knocks on the wall and glances in windows whenever we got lucky enough to get taken out of our cells. "Prisoner! Up against the wall!" The guard screamed, attaching something to my wrist. I winced, "Fuck man. That kind of hurts." He walked me out of my cell and I saw that Octavia wasn't in her room. "Hey, where'd the girl in that cell go?" They ignored my question and continued to walk me somewhere. At one point I got my clothes back they arrested me in. I had my leather jacket and jeans and my combat boots back on before I was pushed towards a ship. I looked around and noticed that it was filled with everyone who was locked up. "Hey, calm the fuck down." I heard a familiar voice as someone was shoved into my back. "Sorry, that guards a cunt." I turned around and felt tears brimming my eyes, "(Y/N)?" Octavia smiled, hugging me tightly before we walked over to our seats, "Why did you get locked up?" She whispered, running her fingers over the scars in my wrists from struggling against cuffs over the years. "I got into some bad stuff after you got taken away." I mumbled and she hugged me again before we put our seatbelts on. She gripped my hand tightly as we flew through space. "Bellamy?" She yelled, hearing his voice. I followed her to the front of the ship where he stood, "Octavia and (Y/N). Together again." He chuckled as we both hugged him. When Octavia stepped out of the ship I smiled at her, watching her like I did the first time she saw earth from space. Bellamy pulled me to the side, "Do you still love her?"

"I never stopped loving her, Bell." I looked up at him and noticed the protectiveness in his eyes, "The tell her. You two need each other." I nodded, knowing what he meant, "I'll be better for her, Bellamy. You can trust me." He patted my back, "You're the only person I trust to take care of her. Don't let me down." i turned to walk away, but he pulled me into a hug, "I missed you."

"I missed you too, Bell."

"Hey! Don't hog her." Octavia laughed, walking up behind us. After that we were inseparable once again and I did everything I could to protect her. When she went missing I lost it once again, drinking with Monty and Jasper just like I used to. When she got back I hugged her tightly again, "You've been drinking.." She whispered, smelling it on me. "I thought I lost you again.." She shook her head, laying me down in bed. "You won't lose me again. Rest." She kissed my forehead before walking to her tent. I slept through all of the abuse of the captured grounder, but knew Octavia would be up there. Her curiosity always got the best of her. I heard her talking to him, "I'll help you get out of here, Lincoln. Thank you for the cure to the poison. I made a stupid move." She sighed and I heard him laugh softly, "Why do you thank me?"

"Because I know without you I would have left the one person I love in this world."

"Your brother? Bellamy?"

"No, there's a girl and I fell in love with her a long time ago. She's my everything. But I can't te-" She stopped when she heard me open the latch. Lincoln looked at the way she was watching me, realization in his eyes. "I figured you could use some help?" I held out a hoodie for him to wear and she smiled at me, "Lets go." We let him down and began walking him out of camp. Halfway into the forest he thanked us and walked off. After letting him get a bit away and as the night set in I turned to Octavia, "Hold on." I stopped her from walking off and pulled her close, kissing her gently. She blushed and looked up at me, "You don't have to do this if you don't feel the same.." She whispered, turning her head away from me. I tilted her head back to me, "Octavia, I've loved you since we were younger kids. I wanted to tell you at the masquerade that night, but I couldn't and losing you hurt me more than you will ever know. I love you, Octavia Blake. I mean that."

"I love you too.. I have for what seemed like forever when I couldn't see you.." She kissed me again, lacing our fingers together. We walked back to camp hand in hand, sneaking small kisses along the way. When we got back to camp she led me to her tent and kissed me more passionately before we laid in her bed. I laid down and she cuddled into me, pressing a soft kiss to my lips, "Goodnight.." She whispered, "One more thing. Be mine?" I asked quietly, "I always have been." She smiled kissing me again. Our love story is beautiful and it all started by accident.
