Overnight by Parachute

"We need to break up. It's over." Clarke practically spat at me, anger evident on her face, but not at me. She looked angry at herself almost for saying this to me. I couldn't break in front of her, so I turned and went back to my tent. I laid there and sobbed for days it seemed. We wouldn't look at each other and barely talked unless absolutely necessary. She watched as I became something I said I would never be, even when we were just friends. I would bring home another person night after night. Casual sex was the closest I got to having any contact with anyone. Murphy was one of the most recent hookups I had. "You just need to forget, (Y/N)." He whispered in my ear, voice husky with lust. Soon enough, like all the others, he left and I was left thinking of only Clarke. I felt my thoughts grow dark, so dark I thought I could never see the light again. Why couldn't she just tell me why she was leaving? Why did she just walk away? I break hearts. I ruin people. And it's horrible because no matter what I do, who I break, nothing could take her place. Raven and I sat at the campfire and I felt my mind wander off to better days because I saw someone that reminded me of Clarke.

"Come on, (Y/N)! It's not that hard, I'll teach you." We had been dating for a few months but never really done more than a couple quick kisses which we both were fine with as long as we had each other. "I keep telling you, I can't dance!" I laughed from where I was sitting in the drop ship. I was perched on a small bed we had made in the upper portion of it and she was dancing, humming some sort of waltz tune, and pouting because I wouldn't join her. "Pleeeeaaaasssseee." She whined, walking over to me. I groaned and stood, "You know I can't resist your puppy dog eyes." She giggled, grabbing my hands and placing them before teaching me the movement of our feet. "See, it's not so hard." She whispered, staring up at me as we danced. She pulled me into her and kissed me. I held onto her hips and kissed back, soon feeling the kiss getting heated. She pushed me back onto the bed and held herself up above me, biting at my lower lip. I stopped her, biting my lip and staring into her deep blue eyes, "Are you sure you want to?" She nodded, "Are you?" She whispered, leaning back in. I nodded and we picked up where we left off. The next morning I woke up and we were naked and only covered by a blanket. She was cuddled into my arms and our fingers were laced together on one hand at my waist. The sun began pouring through a hole and she awoke, looking up at me. "The sun always rises too soon." She whispered before leaning up to kiss me gently, us both smiling into the kiss.

That night I woke up panting and shaking. This was a normal occurrence at this point considering Clarke wasn't here to help me through the nightmares that plagued me. I could hardly close my eyes anymore. I got up and went on another walk through the woods, which was my usual midnight routine. I didn't bring a single weapon, which was my downfall because an animal attacked me, wounding me critically. I started screaming and felt myself start to fade out before Octavia ran into the forest and helped me back to the dropship. Clarke ran in soon, practically breaking down as I faded in and out of consciousness. "You have to stay with me, (Y/N).." I faded out a final time, waking up to find Clarke asleep next to me in a chair. "Clarke..." I whispered weakly. Her eyes shot open and she stood, putting her hands on either side of me, "Why were you out so late at night? You could've gotten killed!" I just shrugged, looking anywhere but into her eyes. "I almost lost you, I think I deserve at least a bit of reasoning." She whispered, her voice cracking. Our eyes locked, "I couldn't get over you.. Not overnight.." Clarke leaned in and kissed me, holding me close to her. "I should've never left you. I'm so sorry. Please.. Will you be mine again?" I pulled her down to lay next to me, cuddling into her arms, "I've always been yours, Clarke.."
