"Happy birthday, Rav-" I stopped when I saw Finn and Raven pull apart quickly and stared down at the cake I baked her awkwardly. "I.. I can just leave this here. Catch you later." I set the cake down on her table and turned to walk away, "Thanks for the cake!" Finn yelled, chuckling. I hate him. I really fucking hate him. At least Raven's happy though, that's all I've ever cared about. I didn't even realize until recently that I was in love with my best friend so it shouldn't be that big of a deal. I bumped straight into Clarke, knocking her back on the ground. "Shit, I'm sorry. I'm way too damn clumsy." I held out a hand to her and helped her up, "No worries. Where ya headed?"

"Just on a walk. I need to clear my head." She smiled at me and tilted her head to the side, "I'm a good listener if you ever need anything. Just drop by and let me know. It's been awhile since we've had time to hang out." I nodded and hugged her quickly, "I'll fix that soon, I promise." She nodded and continued walking to wherever as I turned and made my way to my room. "(Y/N), where the hell have you been?" My dad yelled and I sighed, "I went to go take Raven her birthday cake, sir." He nodded and turned to me, straightening his guard uniform. "I don't think I like you hanging around that Reyes girl." I glared up at him and stood my ground for once. "Why is that?"

"She's a bad influence. I don't want to see you around her again."

"That's too bad. She's my best friend." He shrugged, pushing past me. "Those are my terms."

"Then maybe I don't want to live on your terms." He turned, jaw clenched, and stared me down. "Then you can pack your stuff and find somewhere else to live. Have I made myself clear?" I felt the tears prick my eyes and nodded, turning to pack my stuff into a bag. I'll live in the hallways if I have to. I'm definitely not going to Raven for help. In fact, if I can help it I won't even bother to tell her at work tomorrow. I pushed past my dad, "Goodbye then." I mumbled and made my way out of what used to be my home. I kept walking, not really paying attention to where I was going, before knocking on a door. Jake answered and I looked up to him, "Hey, Mr. Griffin.." I whispered weakly, tears making their way down my face. "(Y/N)? What's wrong?" Abby asked from behind him, pulling me inside. "I got kicked out and was wondering if I could stay here for the night.." I mumbled, looking down at my shoes because I felt weak. "You're always welcome here. Welcome to the family." Jake said, a sincere smile on his face. Clarke opened the door and walked in, "What's going on?" She looked over at me with concern before running by her parents and hugging me tightly. "(Y/N) needs a place to stay, so she'll be here as long as she needs to be." Clarke nodded and took my hand, leading me to her room. "Just set your stuff down and you can get some rest. I know you have to be at work early." I sighed and laid back on her bed, kicking my boots off and onto the floor. We didn't speak as she laid down next to me. I fell asleep and woke up to an alarm. "Jesus that scared the hell out of me." I mumbled, rolling over to shut it off. Clarke rubbed her eyes, "I set it so you wouldn't be late." I smiled and kissed her cheek quickly, "Thanks, Clarke. Go back to sleep."

"Have a good day at work." She yawned, closing her eyes and hugging the blankets close to her. I quickly pulled on my boots and walked out, "Good morning, sunshine." Jake handed me a cup of coffee and kissed my forehead. "I always make coffee for our early risers. Abby just left and I thought you might like one." I nodded and hugged him, realizing Jake has always been more my dad than my father ever was. "Thanks, Jake."

"You can call me dad if you want." Was all I heard as i walked out of the door and down to mecha station. I went to my bench and set the coffee down, looking over something Raven and I had been working on. "Hey." She smiled at me and I nodded, "Sup." She stared at me for a moment, tilting her head to the side, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"Liar. Talk to me." She sighed and stepped in front of me, sitting on our workbench. "I got kicked out of my house. I'm living with the Griffins." I sighed, avoiding her eyes. She wrapped her arms around her shoulders and leaned her head against mine. "It's all going to be okay. We'll get through this. I promise." I smiled for a moment, wrapping my arms around her waist. I couldn't ignore the way my heart raced when we touched or how she could so easily make me smile. "What do you say after work we just go hang out for a bit?"
