I smiled up at my sister, both of us in our full armor. People watched us walk through TonDC confidently as usually. I locked eyes with Heda and winked at her, smirking as she clenched her jaw and glared at me. "You two.. I swear." Anya sighed and shook her head, continuing our walk to our tent, Lexa close behind. I sat on my bed and laid back trying to ignore the war talk that was going on. "Are you even paying attention?" Lexa sighed and looked over at me. I looked up at her, "Am I supposed to? I go out and I win battles. That's my job. Anya is general." I rolled my eyes and sat up. "Yes, but you need to know our strategy."
"Which I can learn on the battlefield. In my element. Not by listening to you talk to me like I'm a child even though we are the same age, Commander." I growled out, emphasizing her title. She huffed and walked out, "Have a horrible day!" I yelled after her, turning to my sister. "Will you two ever get along?" I shrugged and stood up, removing some of my armor. "What's your problem with her? You guys used to be really close. Then when you hit about 15 you started being a major bitch to her."
"I don't need you to tell me how to act." She sighed and went to bed. I awoke the next day, "Anya and Lexa require your assistance." Indra spoke. I nodded and got up, putting my armor back on and fixing my war paint before walking to the strategy tent. "You called?" I stretched, walking towards them. "You two are going to get along, damn it." Anya growled from where she stood next to Lexa who had her arms crossed and a look of disinterest on her face. "You called us here to make us make up?" Lexa looked to Anya. "Yes. I'm going to leave. Guards will be positioned at the door and are not allowed to let you leave until you can walk out of here smiling at each other." Anya smirked, proud of herself I assume, before walking out of the tent. "So.." I mumbled and Lexa sighed. "I don't want to do this. I don't care why you suddenly hate me. Just smile so we can get out of this."
"Awe, little Lexa taking charge. How cute." I chuckled, walking over to her. "Do you not miss me?" She whispered and I hardened my glare, "I never said that." She walked closer and stood in front of me. I felt my breath hitch in my throat as she tilted her head and I saw the tears in her eyes, "Do you not care for me? Did you ever?" I turned my head, "We just grew apart. I changed. I will not apologize for becoming the warrior I am." She sighed and looked down at her feet, "If only you knew how much I cared for you.." She whispered, almost inaudibly, before walking out of the tent. I watched her leave and pondered on what she meant. Soon, Anya came in and looked me over, "So?"
"So what? So nothing." I mumbled, turning my head, hoping she couldn't see the look of hurt on my face. "(Y/N). Talk to me." She whispered, putting her hand on my shoulder. "I don't hate her, okay? I never have."
"Then why are you acting this way towards her?" I sighed and sat down before resting my head in my hands. "Because I love her. And I pushed her away when I went to training and she became commander. Love is weakness. That's what we're taught and with her position, I can't risk her getting hurt because of me." Anya smiled, amusement in her eyes, "I knew it, but you must tell her. You both can protect yourselves and each other."
"I've already ruined it, Anya. I can't come back from this." I whispered, looking up at her. She shook her head and held out her hand before pulling me up and into a hug. "Yes you can. I have to go on a hunt, but I will see you when I return and we will figure this out. I love you, (Y/N)." I smiled, hugging her tightly, "I love you too, Anya." With that she left. I felt the time pass by without her return. Days passed and turned into weeks and still my sister had not returned. I felt my suspicions rise as I saw one of the sky people enter the Commander's tent. After giving them a while to talk I followed in. "I know Anya was your mentor, but she was killed by one of our guards." Lexa saw me as I walked over to her. "What did you say, sky girl?" I growled, grabbing her jacket and pushing her against a wall, "A-anya is dead.." She mumbled with a look of fear in her eyes, "You killed my sister." I yelled, hot tears running down my face. Indra pulled me off of her, "Everyone, Leave us." Lexa commanded and I fell to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably. I noticed Clarke had dropped the pieces of Anya's hair she had brought on the ground and I picked it up, feeling my shoulders shake as I cried. Lexa sat behind me on the floor, pulling me into her and holding me close as I cried. I held onto her and buried my face into her chest. "She was all I had, Lex. I lost you because I was stupid about my feelings, but Anya knew me. She was the only person in the world that knew the real me and knew that.. She was the only one I could care for and love without fear that they would get hurt because of me. She was the only one who knew that I loved you." I looked up at her, shock evident on her face, "I love you, Lexa. I left you to protect you. And I'm sorry." I stood and walked out of the tent, leaving Lexa shocked and confused. I didn't stop until I reached Anya and my tent, quickly pulling on my armor and weapons. The sky people would pay for this and they would pay in blood. "Blood must have blood." I whispered, fixing my smeared war paint. Lexa walked in and looked me over, "Where are you going?"
"To make them pay." I stared into her eyes practically emotionless. Lexa shook her head, "You're not going anywhere. You can't take on the entire Skaikru on your own."
"I can try. She was my sister, Lexa." Lexa pulled me closer to her and kissed me softly. "And you're the love of my life. I can't lose you.. Not again.." She whispers, tears welling up in her eyes and I sighed, dropping my sword, "Okay.. I won't go.."
"Don't ever leave me again.. I love you too.." She held onto me tightly. I saw the Commander shaking at the thought of losing me. "I'll never leave you again, Lex" I whispered back, holding her closer and kissing her forehead, "Never again.." She whispered, a small smile on her face as she kissed me again.
