Chapter 26

Oliver was silent as we passed the doors and strolled down the vast hallways. "here we are." I announced. He stopped to spare me a glance and a smile when the alarms came alive. Clearly puzzled, I opened the door and found out it was empty. What?! And not to mention the whole world wants to interrupt me. Yeeeeheeeyyy. Note sarcasm.

Not knowing what to do, I spared Oliver a glance when his sea green eyes met mine. "Oliver? What's wrong?" I asked as I saw something familiar in his eyes; Fear. "I don't really know but the last time it was to save you guys. I mean I don't-" "Oliver!" a familiar voice called out making me jump. "Brother?! What are you doing out of the infirmary?!" Oliver asked. "No time. For now, you need to go back inside your room. Both of you" he said now acknowledging me. "tell me what the heck is happening?!" I asked shouting. "medical goods will be delivered today." he started "and?" I pushed forward. "This time it's different. It seems the government has found out about a sanctuary hiding people like us and we- the Betas are assigned to keep this place hidden at all cost." he ended his speech  with a you can't say no to this tone. "that's why you need to keep hidden in case something happens" he added and took Oliver.

"maybe we can help." I announced. "what?!" he said totally shocked. "No! It's the very opposite of what I meant!" his beautiful orbs fuming. Seriously, I keep talking to this guy and I don't know his name. "whatever soldier boy. Take me to Christian." I ordered until I realized I was losing my manners. "please " I added quietly. " arrrrgggg so YOU are the one who Sir West was warning everyone about. " he cried out in frustration. "what?!" I croaked when I heard Oliver laughing "now that I remember what Sir West said. It really is you Emily. Red haired, white complexion and has a stubborn personality." Oliver said. "oh so Christian actually talked about me huh. That's nice." I mumbled when I heard a sigh that came from soldier boy. "and to warn us how stubborn and how annoying all of you are." he added. I was about to reply when some guys were running towards us.

"lieutenant sebastian. You are called by sir Christian" ohhhh so that's his name. Sebastian. Nice name! Dunno bout his personality. "I'm on my way." Sebastian replied. "Oliver, go. Miss Carbonell please do understand" he added and ran to do his duty. "are you really gonna stay behind Emily?" Oliver's voice broke my chain of thought. "Hmmm, I guess not." I said giving him a smile. "why don't we go and check on my friends" I added and pushed him towards the dining room.
"No! Let us help! We can help you know" Sham's voice resonated inside the huge dining room. "I'm sorry maam but we are told that the whole place will be under lock down. We cannot change the plan" one security said calming down Sham who was like a charging bull. Not to mention the bored faces of my friends and the continuous rolling eyes of Rose and May.

"What seems to be the problem guys?" I asked with the best innocent face I could make. Also, Oliver is so supportive he gave the security guy another innocent and puppy smile. "ma'am, you are all placed under quarantine and I am here to accompany you to the bunker rooms. Please follow me." and so the security guy motioned us to follow him.

"Emily! Do you not want to help?! We can help you know" it was Rose who mirrored the burning anger of Sham and the rest. "Hush now you lot. I have a plan" I whispered eyeing the security guy. Understanding my plan, they just nodded and went with the flow. "here's the bunker rooms. Please do understand why we are under quarantine" he said with a tone of finality. We all entered the room and saw it can accommodate all of us. There are a lot of beds and dressers and two comfort rooms. Seriously, this place can be an awesome hotel.
"please do not venture outside. Possible shaking may happen but don't worry, we will defend Alpha Point with our lives" the guy said who's name is Alfred who's bagde say so. We all nodded and guilt quickly washed over me. Sorry, but we don't follow rules at all.

Quickly, he closed the door and we all huddled in the center. "plan?" Vincent asked. "I want to check these new government dummies" Philip added. I bit back a giggle as I saw how we all changed in a few weeks. "Let's go and have fun in the weaponry" Rose said. "The weaponry?" we all chimed in. With a smirk and a flip of het auburn hair, she fished out a Swiss knife and started opening the vents. "if you thought walking around with Christian was a waste of time, then here's your answer." she said when she successfully opened the vent. "wait, Christian helped you?" Jay asked in a wait, seriously? Tone. "yup! Now move it"

Slowly and quietly, my friends entered the vents one by one. When it was Oliver's turn, he stopped. "Oliver what's wrong?" I asked. "ahmm maybe I'll stay here" he replied. "Oliver, Emily come on" May shouted. " yeah just move on we'll catch up" I shouted. "alright! Be quick" it was Sham's voice now. "yup" quickly as we convers they all went ahead.

"you should have gone too you know. I'll just stay." Oliver said. Smiling I gave him a pat on the head. "Hey! I know a phobia when I see one. Come on, let's take the door" I said. "but it's locked." he replied. Smiling from ear to ear, I got hair pins from my hair and quoted. "nothing is ever locked" he laughed and said, "who said that?" quickly working on the locks, I shrugged. "one of classmates." "okay!" he said and helped. With another twist and turn, the lock actually gave in. Well it's an ordinary lock with a thumb scanner and voice recognition but who said I can't destroy a thumb scanner and Oliver can't imitate the guard's voice. So with a quick victory dance we dashed towards the control room.
