The Doctors

YOUR POV

We had been traveling for a couple hours when we finally arrived at Scaleswind. Garroth and I had borrowed a horse from Kiki and had ridden double, like when we first met.

"I hope the baby is okay." I sighed.

"I'm sure it's fine." Garroth replied. We hadn't talked much on our ride. After renting a stall for our horse, Garroth and I headed over to the doctor's office.

"Names please." The receptionist asked.

"Umm, Garroth and (E/C)."

"Okay, you have an ultra-sound in ten minutes. The waiting room is right over there. Go ahead and have a seat and the doctor will be right with you!"

"Okay, thank you!" I replied with a smile. Garroth and I walked over to the waiting room. There were little kids in the corner playing with toys. I smiled. Soon, Garroth and I will have our own little trooper. "What are we going to name him/her..."

A voice interrupted my thoughts.

"Umm, Garroth and (E/C)?"

Garroth stood up and offered me his hand. I gladly took it. We walked hand-in-hand down the clinic's hallway into a room. The room had pale white walls and had a bed and lots of machines. I was nervous, and Garroth could tell. He squeezed my hand tighter and I squeezed his hand back.

A doctor walked in. She looked about 27 and was tall with long blonde hair.

"You must be Garroth and (E/C). Hi, my name is Dr. Reese. I will be doing your ultra-sound today!"

Garroth and I nodded at the same time.

"(E/C)? Could I have you lay down here sweetie?" She patted the bed. I nodded and hopped onto it. Garroth sat in a chair right next to the bed and held my hand.

"Okay! Are you ready? Can you please roll up your shirt?" I nodded again and pulled my shirt up, just so it revealed my stomach. "Okay, this might feel cold..." Dr. Reese said as she put a blue paste over my stomach.

I winced. I had injured my side, training with a dummy a few days ago and she had touched where it was bruised. Garroth squeezed my hand and I looked over at him. He looked really concerned. I leaned over and gave him a small kiss on the cheek.

"Hmm, well, NO more training or fighting while you're pregnant... Okay? And (E/C), I mean NONE AT ALL."

I nodded. I was going to do whatever I had to too keep this baby healthy and safe.

"Okay, we are ready for the ultra-sound!" Dr. Reese clicked a few things. A black and white image appeared on the screen. She pointed to a little circle on the screen. Then she frowned and took her hand away from the screen. "Umm, (E/C), is this your first ultra-sound, with this baby anyway?"

"Uhh, yes. Why? Is something wrong?" I started to sit up. She gently pushed me back down.

"No, but, I think there is more than... more than one baby in there. I think you're having twins!"

"What?" I said with tears in my eyes. The tears rolled down my face onto my shirt until Garroth came and wiped them away. I could tell he was tearing up to.

"Oh my gosh," Garroth whispered under his breath.

Dr. Reese smiled at us and nodded. "You see these two little circles? Those are your babies!" As she printed off what was on the screen, I cried. Soft, happy tears though.

Garroth wiped his eyes and covered his mouth with his hand. Dr. Reese handed me the picture along with a sheet.

"This tells you when your next ultra-sound is, about six weeks from now." All I could do was nod. She wiped the blue paste off and I rolled down my shirt. "Oh, and you can expect a little baby bump within a couple weeks. Thank you for coming! I'll see you in six weeks!"

We just nodded at her and we left the room. Garroth had a big smile on his face and so did I. I gave him a hug when we got to the stables. I looked at the stable clock. It said that it was 3 o'clock.

"Well, we should probably get going..."

"Not so fast." Garroth grabbed my arm and pulled me over to a restaurant.

"Garroth, it's funny. I'm craving hamburgers and salad at the same time."

"I guess the twins have different choices in food!"Garroth said with a grin.

We ordered our food to-go and I put it in my backpack for later.

"Okay, let's go." Garroth helped me up onto the horse and I wrapped my hands around his waist.

GARROTH'S POV

This surprise was going to be perfect. After traveling for an hour or so, I asked (E/C) if she wanted to stop to eat.

"Sure. I am really hungry."

I stopped the horse and helped (E/C) get off at a meadow surrounded by woods. She grabbed our food and set it out for us.

YOUR POV

I set down our food and stretched out my back. Where did Garroth go?

I felt something cover my eyes. I was about to go karate mode on whatever was covering my eyes when I heard Garroth say, "Boo!"

"What is this about Garroth? You just disappeared..." Garroth grabbed my arm and dragged me in what I think was the direction of the forest. All at once, he stopped pulling me. He let go of my hands and I took off the mask that was covering my eyes.

"Garroth..."
