YOUR POV
We arrived in Phoenix Drop just at dusk. The moon was starting to come up, and the sun was almost completely unseen. I sighed as our horses rode past the gate, into Phoenix Drop.
As soon as Dante let us through, we headed over to Kiki's barn to return her horses.
On our way over, we stopped by the guard tower. Garroth and I hitched our horses up to the post outside of the guard tower and headed in. I slowly climbed the ladder, Garroth following behind me. We could faintly hear two separate vices talking.
I reached the top of the ladder and stepped onto the top floor.
The floor gave a quiet creek. The two people who were sitting at the table turned towards us.
"Oh. Sorry if we're barging in on anything, you two. We just had to put our stuff away. Then we'll be out of your hair for the night."
The lady nodded. "It's fine. You two live here. I don't. You're not barging in on anything. Umm, I'll see you later, Laurence."
Aphmau stood up and walked past Garroth and I. She slipped down the ladder and went outside. Garroth went to our room while I slowly approached Laurence. I sat down in the chair that had once held Aphmau.
I placed my hand on his. "Hey, Laurence, are you okay?"
He looked up at me with a smile. "Yeah. Actually, everything is awesome. Now, if you'll excuse me," He stood up and pushed in his chair. "I have a date to get ready for!"
I looked at him in awe. "You finally asked her? And she said yes?! Oh my gosh! YESSSSS!!! My ship has SAILED. Garroth! Laurence finally asked Aphmau out!"
"Umm, what? Your ship has sailed?"
I blushed lightly. "Y-yeah." I looked down at my lap. "With Kawaii~Chan being my best friend and all, I was trying to do something she liked for a change. She said I should try shipping, and I kind of got addicted to it. You and Aphmau were my first ship!" I looked up to see an amused Laurence.
"Wow. How was your date? How's Zane?"
"Oh! Yeah! It was great, Garroth and I went to the beach. Then, I went shopping with Nicole..." I quieted as my thoughts shifted back to the fortune teller. "Hmm..."
"Uh, (Y/n)?" Laurence sat down across from me again. "Are you okay?"
I looked around, panicking. "Should I tell him? Can he keep a secret?"
"Yeah. Laurence, can you keep a secret? I can't tell Kawaii~Chan, because then EVERYONE in the village will know about it."
Laurence chuckled. "Yeah, I know what you mean. And yeah, you can trust me."
I looked around for Garroth, but didn't see him. "Okay," I said in a hushed voice. "You can't tell Garroth. And, you can't laugh at me. I know it's stupid and childish, but, it's been bugging me sense I did it..."
I paused and Laurence waited a blank expression on his face. "So, when Nicole and I went shopping, we tried one of those fortune telling things. She said she'd pay for it, so I thought "Why not?". I went first."
I continued to tell Laurence the story, of my fortune, of Nicole's fortune, and everything that happened after that. "But, you have to promise me you won't tell Garroth... I don't know how he'll react..."
"React to what?"
I spun around to Garroth's voice. "Nothing. Just... a surprise... we're planning... for... Aphmau. Yeah, I'll tell you later, okay? Oh!" I looked down at my wrist. "Look at the time! I bet Laurence doesn't want to be late for his first date with Aphmau! We should go. Come on Garroth!"
I looped my arm through Garroth's and tried to drag him to the ladder. But he didn't budge. He pulled me into our room forcefully, but gently at the same time.
I looked at him funny. Normally, he just goes with it and ignores it. I stood in front of him and looked into his eyes.
His diamond blue eyes seemed slightly clouded, but still peered at me. He moved his hand onto my wrist. His grip was tight, but not tight enough to hurt.
I gulped, not knowing if I wanted to tell him about the fortune thing or not. "Umm, Garroth?"
"(Y/n)," He brought me into an embrace.
His touch made me melt. It felt like everything was right with the world for those couple seconds.
He pulled away and grabbed my arms firmly. "I want you to come to me with ANY problems, (Y/n). I want to be the one you run to. Not Laurence, or Kawaii~Chan, or anyone!"
I looked at him with surprise. I noticed him tearing up, which was unlike Garroth.
"I want to be your knight in shining armor, I want to be the one you love, I want to be your light in the dark. (Y/n), I want to be there for you when no one else is. I love you so much, that sometimes, it hurts." He looked at me, his eyes still clouded and tears streaming down his cheeks.
I slowly nodded and gave Garroth a hug. "Garroth," I whispered in his ear. "You are those things. YOU are my knight in shining armor, YOU are the one I love, YOU are my light in the darkness. And, I love you."
We hugged for a little longer when Garroth let go. He pulled away gently. He wiped away the tears on his face with the back of his hand.
"It's good to know that." He whispered gently.
I leaned in and gave him a peck on the lips before heading to the bathroom to puke up my contents from being worried.
I rushed into the bathroom. I started throwing up. I felt my hair being gently pulled back away from my face. I smiled at the memories we were going to have once the twins were born.
"So, Laurence and Aphmau are official?"
I smiled at Garroth's odd comment.
"Yes." Was all I managed to get out.
But now that we confirmed it, it felt weird.
Larmau was official!
