So if it says "my (E/C) eyes where moist from my tears", sense i have hazel eyes, i would fill in, "my hazel eyes where moist from my tears". Anyway, enjoy the story!
YOUR POV
I keep on riding. I can feel the flanks of the horse beneath me rise and fall heavily as I gallop through the woods. I can hear the voices of my father's army behind me, shouting and whistling to me like I am a dog. After a few months of being treated like a princess, I quit. I was just done. I told my father but he just didn't understand. "I swore to your mother on her deathbed that you would become the Lord of our village. And I intend on keeping that promise."
As soon as my father had said that, I hatched my plan to run away. Forever. There was no way I was going back. As I thought about home, tears filled up in my (E/C) eyes. I thought of my five younger brothers, still in guard training. I was going to miss them.
I raced through the woods until I couldn't hear the hoots and hollers of my father's army. My horse started slowing down and I realized that there were warm tears streaming down my face. I wiped them with the back of my sleeve. As I was wiping my eyes, I saw a small lake.
I knew from my guard training to NEVER drink still water, but it would still feel nice to splash some water on my face. I walk over to where the small lake stood. The sun reflected off the water's surface. I stood mesmerized by the beauty of the lake.
All of a sudden I heard the snapping of twigs and the crunching of leaves. I turned around thinking that my father's army had caught up with me. I looked around. All I saw where the leaves falling from the trees and the trees themselves.
Then it hit me. "Where is my horse?!" I looked around near and far for my horse, but I couldn't find it. "Great," I thought," Now there is no way for me to run away from the guards." I turned back to the lake and looked at it's beauty. As I sat down, I concentrated on the leaves falling onto the water's surface. Watching this, I began to relax. I took a deep breath and sighed. There was no way I was going to be Lord and I was going to do everything in my power to stop it. I heard a soft crunch behind me. Thinking it was a small animal, I kept my eyes on the lake. Gradually, I drifted off to sleep.
~NEXT MORNING~
Rustle. I open my eyes at the sound of something near me. I hadn't gone through 6 months of guard training for nothing. A guard always sleeps with one eye open. Rustle. I sat up. I turned around to find a young man sitting by a rock nearby. I stifled a scream. He looked to be around my age. The man didn't seem to hear me. He was drawing something in the dirt. The rustle had been from his pony who stood tied up to a tree next to the lake.
I rub my head, trying to remember why I was out by a lake in the first place. Last night. I escaped. It hit me hard. Real hard. I rubbed my eyes and looked over to where the man was sitting. He wasn't there anymore. But his horse was. I hear a crunch and a sword slicing through the air. I drew out my katanas and countered his attack.
His icy blue eyes peered into mine eyes as if evaluating me. I sent a tight uppercut to his lower jaw, but he swiftly dodged it. He was clearly a guard. We kept on sparring until a blue-haired boy arrived on a magnificent white horse. "Garroth!" The blue-haired boy shouted. Our weapons struck against each other as we looked into each other's eyes.
I could hear the guard I was sparring with mumble under his breath, "What?" The blue-haired boy got off his horse and I cautiously lowered my weapons. If the blue-haired boy was as good as the blonde man I was fighting now, I would be taken. The blonde man took this advantage and pinned my arm behind my back until I was sure that it was at least sprained if not broken. My armor clinked as my arm was twisted back. I dared not cry to show pain or weakness.
"What are you doing in Phoenix Drop?" the blonde man named Garroth whispered next to my ear. Fortunately, in the 6 months I was in guard training, I had learned how to counter this attack. I kicked the back of Garroth's knee. He fell to the ground with a thud.
"Garroth!" The blue-haired boy rushed over to where Garroth lay. I was breathing heavily and my (E/C) hair was matted to my forehead from sweating so much. The blue-haired boy looked up at me. I could tell he was feeling many emotions right now. Anger, sadness, pain, and even horror.
I put my katanas away on my back. I brushed my hair out of my face, and walked over to Garroth. The blue-haired boy started reaching for his weapon when I said, "Dude, chill. I am not going to hurt him." I helped him up with the arm that was not broken.
"For a woman, you sure are strong." Garroth said holding the back of his leg. The blue-haired boy stared at me as if he had never seen a woman before. I guess the armor I was wearing was fitted for a man.
"Thanks." I said roughly. "Why did you attack me?"
Garroth smiled, "I don't know to tell you the truth. Sense Aphmau has left Phoenix Drop in my care while she is gone, I guess I have been less forgiving."
"So, you must be the head guard then. My name is (E/C)."
"I'm Garroth, the head guard of Phoenix Drop, and this is Dante, a fellow guard."
"Nice to meet you." I winced. "Any chance you know how to set a broken arm?"
Garroth laughed. "No, but I know someone who does. Come with me."
Dante, the blue-haired boy, saddled his horse and with one last look at me, rode off. Garroth mounted his horse. "Here." Garroth held out his hand to me. "Unless you want to walk there with a broken arm." I take a hold of his hand. He pulled me up onto the saddle behind him. I could tell he was very strong. I wrapped my arms around his waist and we set off towards what I presumed to be Phoenix Drop.
