APHMAU'S POV

"Okay," I pulled on my armor. "I'm ready."

Aaron grabbed his sword and took off his jacket.

I didn't notice I was staring until Kawaii~Chan giggled.

"Aphmau~Senpai, it's rude to stare."

My eyes widened and my face heated up.

Aaron smirked and got into a fighting position.

YOUR POV

Lia was screaming her little head off right now.

Finn was sleeping upstairs and Garroth was on patrol with Dante.

I was sipping on a lemonade as I sat down at the counter with Lia. I grabbed her bottle and she immediately calmed down. I sighed and watched mine and Garroth's little angel suck down her formula.

After she was done, I gently rocked her back and forth in an attempt to have her fall asleep. Without realizing it, I started to hum. As I hummed, I tried to remember what the words were.

I won't give you more,

More than you can take.

And I might let you bend,

But I won't let you break.

Don't forget what I said...

"That was beautiful (Y/n)." A calm voice startled me.

"My Irene! Serina? You scared me! I haven't seen you lately!"

Serina smiled. "I went to visit Papa in Metalli."

I nodded. "You seem to be really close with him."

Serina was now grinning. "I love Papa. I would do anything for him."

I smiled, but then frowned. "My father and I used to be like that. But, then he became the Lord of Thurmond and we grew apart."

Serina nodded.

I shook my head and smiled at her. "Why are you here?"

Serina shrugged. "Just to say hi. I was going to ask if you needed help with the twins, but it looks like you already have that under control." She pointed to the sleeping Lia in my arms.

I sighed with a smile. "For now."

I walked upstairs and laid Lia down in her crib. "Would you like some-" I turned around but Serina wasn't there. I walked back downstairs but couldn't find Serina.

Weird.

I grabbed my lemonade and gulped the rest down. I laid down on the couch.

The twins were taking a nap, so why couldn't I?

I didn't fight it a sleep overcame me.

I opened my eyes to flames and fire.

What the... the twins!

My eyes widened as I rushed to the stairs.

Wales and screams filled my hearing.

I ran up the stairs, dodging, barely, a falling beam. I ran into Lia's room, the closest to the stairwell.

Nothing.

I ran into Finn's room. I met two unfamiliar faces. My senses kicked in and I stopped in my tracks. I knew who they were.

"You're shadow knights."

Just kidding! There's more! ^-^  

They didn't respond; instead, they turned to the window and jumped out.

I caught a glimpse of two bundles in their hands before they left. "NO!" I ran to the window and leaned out, attempting to see them.

I sighed with relief as I saw them cornered by Garroth.

Garroth's back was to the woods.

I ran downstairs and out of the burning house only to be paralyzed by fear.

The entire village was all in flames.

Burns covered my body and I was coughing hard. I closed my eyes and ran over to where Garroth had cornered the shadow knights. The sight I saw I didn't expect, nor want.

Garroth laid on the ground with a dark red sword in his chest. Blood pooled around him.

I checked for a pulse. Tears flooded my vision. I frantically seared for something, anything.

There was nothing.

I collapsed onto his chest.

Tears were flowing freely.

"(Y/n)! Thank Irene your safe..." Serina trailed off as she saw Garroth. "Oh my Irene... (Y/n), we need to get you out of here." She said softly.

"I'm not going without Garroth."

"(Y/n)-"

"No! I'm not leaving without Garroth! He's coming with us."

"But (Y/n)..."

"Come on, Garroth. It isn't funny..."

Serina shook my shoulders. "STOP, (Y/N)! GARROTH IS DEAD. WE HAVE TO LEAVE RIGHT NOW!"

It was said. It was official. I stopped in shock and looked down at my hands.

Serina sighed. "Where are the twins?!?"

The water works started again.

Serina bit her lip. "I am so sorry, (Y/n). But, I'm going to do this for your safety."

I closed my eyes. I couldn't see through my tear, so it wasn't worth the energy keeping them open.

I felt Serina slunk my arms around her neck and she grabbed my legs. I felt her start moving.

"We have a long way to go." I heard her mumble before I fell into the black abyss.
