SERINA'S POV

My horse moved slowly towards Metalli. I felt awful for betraying (Y/n) and everyone else in Phoenix Drop. I took a deep breath before entering the Metalli gates.

I rode over to the stables and gave Mystogan a sugarcube. (FAIRY TAIL REFERENCE!)

I filled a trough full of water and another of feed.

Mystogan's black mane was hot and wet with sweat.

"Hey, Serina."

I turned around. When I saw who it was, I smiled. "Vincent!" I ran over to him and hugged him; he hugged me back.

"Did you..."

"Yeah..."

"Look, I'm sorry. But I told you when you agreed to go to Phoenix Drop, don't grow attached to anyone."

I sighed. "I know."

Vincent looked at me. "Did they give you the money?"

I nodded and pulled out a bag that had a large amount of coins in it. "I didn't know the reward was this much money."

Vincent sighed with a smirk. "The Lord of Scaleswind had specific... preferences, for his future daughter-in-law. He wanted her to be the heir of a Lordship title and she had to be single."

I looked at him with confusion. "(Y/n) was engaged, Vincent. Engaged. I wouldn't exactly call her "single"."

"Those weren't the Lord's exact words. He said she could not be married. (Y/n) was engaged, not married."

"Vincent, she has a family. A son, a daughter, and a man who loves her. You made me slip a powder into her drink; what did it do beside knock her out? What was it?"

Vincent paced around the stable. "Oh, that stuff? Just a powerful powder that a shadow-knight once gave me. It makes her believe everyone she knows and loves is dead."

"What?! Vincent, how could yo-"

Vincent sighed. "I knew you'd be like this Serina."

I felt a pinch on the back of my neck before I blacked out.

YOUR POV

I could barely open my eyes. My body hung loosely on the wall, the chains still attached.

The man that supposedly took a magiks barrier off of me left hours before. I was guessing it was the middle of the day or earlier.

The room I was in was dim. I could hear faint voices, muffled through the door. I couldn't move.

The Lord of Scaleswind was right. Those were the most painful 7 hours of my life. That includes becoming a shadow-knight and being in the hospital, giving birth.

Although I was not physically hurt other than my clothes torn and a few burns, I was completely drained of power. They had put the shadow-setting at 20 during the entire process. I couldn't even scream in pain after three minutes.

My eyes drifted shut...

ZANE'S POV

I slouched in my chair as my head guard, Jeffory, came in with more paperwork.

I sighed. "More?"

Jeffory smiled. "Yep! Although I think this is the last of it."

I sighed with relief. "Thank Irene! I thought my hand was going to fall off if I had to do too much more..."

Jeffory laughed. "That wouldn't be good. It's be harder to slip a ring onto that girlfriend of your's finger."

I felt my face heat up.

Jeffory laughed again. "Sorry, Lord Zane. I didn't mean to tease you."

I nodded with a smile. "If this is the last of it, why don't you go home to your family."

Jeffory nodded. "Sounds wonderful. Thanks!"

"Tell Katelyn and Abby "Hi!" for me!"

"Yep!" He closed the door behind himself.

I sighed. Everyone had been working super hard sense I had become Lord of Okasis.

I waited for a few seconds to make sure he was gone before pulling out my communication amulet.

Nicole and I haven't talked in a couple days. I hope everything's okay...

Nicole?

...

Nicole?

...

Hmm... She might not have her communication amulet on her right now. At least I hope that's all that it is.

ANDI'S POV

My sis still hasn't come home.

Laurence and I put the twins to sleep while Garroth and the others talked.

The twins went to sleep a few minutes ago. Laurence and I stood out in the hallway silently, thinking about our own stuff.

"What do you think?" I asked Laurence quietly.

Laurence sighed. "You've known (Y/n) longer than I have. But if I know anything about her, it's that she never leaves family behind."

I nodded. "I don't know where she would run to. I mean, she doesn't have any enemies. Who would have kidnapped her? It just doesn't make sense."

Laurence nodded. "I don't know..."

I looked over at Laurence. My bottom lip began to quiver and I knew I was going to cry I ran over to Laurence and buried my head in his chest and let the tears fall.

He was surprised at first but then wrapped his arms around me.

LAURENCE'S POV

After a while, Andi sniffled and the tears had stopped flowing so much. She let out a pained laugh. "I hate being a girl and crying so much. All it does is show weakn-"

I leaned down and kissed her.

She was surprised at first, but she soon melted into it.

"It doesn't show weakness. It shows emotion."

Andi bit her bottom lip and looked at the ground. After a second, she looked up.

What she said next made my eyes widened.

"That was my first kiss."
