VYLAD'S POV
A woman with teal hair stood in front of my cell. A girl shadow-knight stood next to her.
I had seen the girl around, so I was guessing the two weren't friends.
I bit my lip. "What do you mean? I thought Garroth was dead."
The woman sighed. "Nope. He's not. He's my brother-in-law. Now let's get you out so we can get out of here."
I looked at her quizzically. "So Garroth got married."
She nodded as she worked on the lock. "To my sister. They have twins, Ophelia and Finn."
I smiled weakly. "That's great!"
She nodded, a small smile on her face. "Yeah. They're three now."
I tried to smile, but I couldn't. "I don't know how long it's been sense I've been in here..." I hesitated. "You can't really tell what time it is here."
She nodded. "We've been here for a few hours at least." She bit her lip and her wedding ring flashed in the glow of the Nether.
"Your husband at home?"
She hesitated before nodding. "He's holding open the portal."
I nodded. "He's a shadow knight then?"
She nodded. "Yeah... He is."
I nodded.
She stood up and pulled down on the lock. It came off with a rusty squeak.
"Let's go." She murmured, keeping her eyes on the girl.
"Melody, I need you to not tell Gene we got away until we're through the portal."
Her eyes widened with fear. "But then he'll kill me!"
"Do you want me to kill you instead?!" She snapped.
"N-no." She mumbled.
"Sorry... Just let's go. I have to check on Aaron." She murmured and started down the hallway.
I stood up shakily, as I haven't walked sense Gene last tried to get information out of me.
The girls waited at the end of the hallway for me. When I finally got to them, she peeked around the corner.
She cursed under her breath. "Really?" She hissed to no one in particular.
She turned to us two. "We took to long. The guards are coming. We need to hide."
The shadow-knight shook her head. "They won't mind me. I'll stay out here."
I nodded and quickly hobbled over to my old cell. I turned to them. They hadn't moved.
"Come on." I motioned for the one girl to follow me.
The teal haired girl followed me after a few seconds.
I walked into my cell and pulled a few old bricks out of the way.
The girl watched me.
It revealed a small tunnel I had been working on sense I was trapped in this place.
"Stay in there until the guards have passed."
She nodded before climbing in. She winced as she climbed in.
That's when I noticed the gash in her side. "Did that other girl give that to you?"
She nodded. "It's just a scratch." She bit her lip as she crawled in.
I shook my head and covered the hole back up.
I slumped against the wall and the guards passed by.
They were talking to each other, but to quiet for me to hear.
I kept my eyes closed.
"Hey, you." The guards stopped at my cell.
I opened an eye.
"You moved from your spot." He walked closer to the bars.
I glared at them, but I stayed silent.
The other guard scoffed and turned to the one in front of me. "Let's go."
I closed my eyes again.
They walked away, continuing their patrol.
I opened my eyes and waited for them to round the corner.
I quickly stood up and moved the bricks away for the teal haired girl. She crawled out.
"Okay... We have 7 minutes 32 seconds until the guards are back." I told her quietly.
She nodded. "Okay... Let's go now."
I opened the cell door and snuck out to the empty hallway.
"Shoot... Where is Melody?" She asked in a panicked voice.
"I don't see her."
"That's not good... She's probably going to go tell Gene! We have to get out of here." She sprinted off and I followed her as fast as I could.
