YOUR POV

My eyes widened.

Faith stood in her spot, still looking at me. "The way you looked at that ring. It is your engagement ring, is it not? But no such passion like that could be seen because of my son. You said the man you love. That's not my son. He is wicked; he took after his father. Nicole took after me but..." She shook her head. "Ashton always tried to impress his father; he tried to become worthy in his father's eyes. His father, Jonathan, has always been like that; never letting in anyone, never being impressed."

She sighed. "I was forced by my father to marry Jonathan, as his father forced him. We never have truly loved each other, though from the outside we make it seem like that.

Jonathan was always one for tradition; as was his father. So, he took the forced marriage as a tradition and he won't hand the Lordship title over to Ashton until he has a wife, a forced wife mind you, as did his father do to him."

I looked down at my hands. "My fiancé and I had twins. I don't know where they are now, nor him. All I remember is shadow-knights attacking my village a few days ago. He tried to protect me and the twins, but ended up being killed himself."

I felt tears flowing down my face.

"The shadow knights raced off with the twins, and although I'm a shadow-knight, I- I-" I closed my eyes, trying to force the memory out to this woman who would soon by my mother-in-law. "I couldn't do anything. I collapsed and my friend, Serina tried helping me. She brought me here, for a cost no doubt." I scowled at the thought of Serina.

I stood up and Faith handed me the towel which I wrapped around my body. She handed me a dress and I slipped into it. It was a no-strap dress. It had a beautiful floral pattern on it.

"Thanks." I said to Faith quietly and she drew in a deep breath.

"You have been through so much. I can't imagine what you had to go through." Faith shook her head, spacing out. After a few seconds, she turned to me. "I will try to help you get out of this marriage, but there is only so much I can do." She took a deep breath before continuing. "Another tradition my husband likes to keep is the bride and groom must not see each other the night before the wedding; thus, we're locked in here."

She opened a door that I had thought to be a closet. It opened into a giant bedroom with three beds, one for me, one for Nicole and one for Faith. There was a big mirror, a television and a small kitchen. "We're going to stay here for the night. We aren't allowed to come out except tomorrow at 12:45, 15 minutes before you walk down the aisle."

Nicole came in from behind us and groaned. "Another room to be stuck in?"

Faith smiled softly at her daughter. "Unfortunately, yes."

Nicole groaned before flopping down on one of the beds.

Faith sighed. "Well it's late, you two should get to bed."

I looked over at her confused. "It's only like 11 in the morning."

Faith giggled. "You're just like Nicole. When you're training, you lose track of time. Honey, it's past 9 in the evening."

My eyes widened and I turned to Nicole who also was surprised. "Nicole... WE MISSED LUNCH AND DINNER!"

I and Nicole rushed over to the fridge and grabbed some things out.

"Does lasagna sound good?" Nicole grabbed out all the ingredients for a home-made lasagna.

"That sounds great! I'll make some chocolate chip lava cupcakes!"

Nicole looked over at me with confusion. "You can bake?"

I laughed. "Kawaii~Chan was my best-friend. Of course I can bake!" My smile was replaced by a frown. Kawaii~Chan, Aphmau, Donna, Laurence, Andi, Aaron... Garroth. I missed them so much.

Tears threatened to fall but I wiped them away before they could.

I smiled and got out the ingredients to make the cupcakes.

~1~HOUR~LATER~

"Lasagna's done!" Nicole smiled and opened the oven.

An amazing smell filled the room and I gave a little smile. "The cupcakes will be done in a few minutes."

Nicole grinned. "Let's eat!"

~LATER~

I moaned. "That was so good."

Nicole smiled and patted her stomach. "I'm stuffed."

Faith smiled. "That was very good girls. Nicole," She turned to her daughter. "When did you learn to cook like that?"

Nicole shrugged. "It's sort of my secret, hidden talent."

I smiled. "I remember when Garroth found out my "secret talent". It was funny to watch his reaction!"

Nicole smiled. "What was it?"

I blushed. "Umm, well, I was really good at red-stone. I haven't done that in..." I rolled my eyes. "Probably a year?" It came out as a question. I let out a pained laugh. "Garroth thought it was the coolest thing ever."

"Who is Garroth?" Faith quietly asked Nicole.

I don't think I was supposed to hear it, but I did.

Nicole smiled sadly. "Garroth is my boyfriend's brother, or AKA her dead fiancé."

Faith gave a sad smile and turned to me. "So Garroth is your dead fiancé?"

I nodded silently.

Faith sighed. "Well, he sounds like a wonderful man. He was lucky to have you."

Faith sighed before her face filled with concern and surprise. She turned to Nicole. "You have your first boyfriend and you didn't tell me?"

"Uhh... Where did you hear that? I don't have a boyfriend!" Nicole tried to cover up her mistake and I giggled.

"Nicole, I don't think you can cover that one up. You described Garroth as your boyfriend's brother... I think your mom is smart enough to figure that one out."

Nicole sighed; there was blush on her cheeks. "Fine. Yes, Zane is my boyfriend."

"Zane, Zane... Why does that name sound familiar?"

I smiled. "He's the current Lord of Okasis."

Faith nodded in thought. "One of the youngest lords if I remember correctly."

Nicole nodded. "He's my age and he's super sweet and-"

"So how long have you two been together?"

Nicole looked over at me and I shrugged.

She looked like she was deep in thought before she answered. "About 7 months now."

Faith smiled. "So that's what all those visits to Okasis were for. I'm so happy for you sweetheart!" Faith engulfed Nicole with a big hug.

Nicole smiled and hugged her mom back.

I smiled and backed up. I went over to one of the beds and laid down.

"Goodnight." I whispered to nobody in particular before closing my eyes and falling into a feverish sleep.
