Chapter 32

FAITH POV: A FEW WEEKS LATER: I was released from the hospital a few days after giving birth to Audrey.  I didn't want to leave without my baby, but Tim and I were there almost around the clock with her. She's getting bigger and stronger. It's Christmas Eve and I'm hoping that we get to take her home today. It would be the best Christmas present ever. The girls are excited about the their new baby sister. They haven't been able to see her yet because they didn't allow small children in the NICU. But we took pictures and showed them to them. Tim and I arrive at the hospital and to the NICU. But Audrey wasn't there. "Tim where is she?" "I don't know, let's go fine out" I started to get really scared thinking the worst. What happened to my baby? We walked up the nurses desk. "excuse me" "Yes how I may help you?"n "Can you tell us where our baby is?" "what's her name?" " Audrey.. Audrey Caroline McGraw" "Ok hold on.." "Ahh ok. Looks like she was moved to the pediatric floor. I will take you" "Thank you" She than lead us into the elevator. The pediatric floor was a floor down from the NICU. We got out and was brought to the nursery. "ok here's your baby" And there was Audrey sleeping. "oh Tim look at her,she's getting bigger" "yes she is" Than we saw her doctor. "Hey can you tell me what's going on with her?" "she's no longer in any danger where she needed to be in the NICU. I was tried calling you but no answer, but now I know you were on your way here" "yeah sorry" "it's ok. We moved her to the nursery last night. And she's been doing very well. She's developed where she should be. She's gained weight which is good. All blood tests done, she passed with flying colors" Tim and I looked at each other and smiled "so what does all this mean?" "Well if you'd like you can take her home today" "really? OH MY GOSH!" I just had happy tears streaming down my face. "yes really, I will get the paperwork and she can go home. Merry Christmas" "Thank you  Dr. thank you so much and Merry Christmans" "Tim..do you think I can hold her" "Lets ask the nurse" I hadn't been able to hold my baby yet since she was born a few weeks ago. Tim and the nurse came back over to me. "Can I hold her?" She smiled picked up Audrey and handed her to me. Holding my baby for the first time, there were no words to describe this feeling.
