It took me about one or two months before I got used to everything. I now go to a school nearby and I have made many friends. But, because of my Daddies being famous, I can't have anybody over my house. As much as I hated that, I had to what I was told.
Three months after my adoption, just as I thought things couldn't go wrong, things did go wrong. Daddy S got sick for a while, and we almost thought he would die. Since I was 5, I didn't know as much about it as I do now. It only lasted about a week, but that week felt like forever. As I read this, I couldn't help but get emotional. I know that was a long time ago and Daddy S is no longer sick, but it made me feel bad for people who couldn't get the same treatment as him who are still sick today. And I began imagining what life would've been like if he had gotten worse and possibly died. I couldn't bare to imagine it.

"Emily... It's time to get up..." Daddy M whispered to me as he was getting me up for school.I slowly crawled out of bed and stretched. I watched as Dad grabbed my clothes for the day and help me put them on.
"Where's Daddy S?" I asked.
"He's still sleeping." Daddy M replied. "He kinda needs it especially after being stressed out last night."I nodded as we headed downstairs and to the kitchen area. There, Dad got me some cereal and milk. I quickly ate my breakfast and got myself ready before going to the bus stop.
As Dad was carrying me out to the bus stop, I noticed him with a black hoodie on.
"Daddy... Why do you have a black hood on?" I asked.
"It's to keep me from not being seen by anybody who might recognize me." Daddy M explained. "And that would be bad because then we would have to move again, which we can't afford right now. And you know not to give away our address, right?"
"Right!" I nodded. "But Daddy S never wears a hoodie."
"That's because Daddy S isn't as pre-cautious as I am when he should be." Daddy M explained.Moments later, the bus that picked me up veered around the corner and slowly stopped at my street. Daddy M kissed me on the cheek before letting me go onto the bus. There, I went to my seat, put on my seatbelt and waved to him like I always do.
At the last bus stop before the school, I watched as my friend Maddie came on the bus and sat down next to me.
"What did you bring for show and tell today?" I immediately asked Maddie.
"I brought my stuffy kitty with me!" Maddie said. "I'm not taking her out yet until show and tell."
"I have my stuffed doll Emmy!" I exclaimed happily.
"You did that already!" Maddie complained.
"My Dad said I can't bring a lot of things for show and tell." I sighed.
"Why not?" Maddie asked.
"I can't say anything about it." I answered. As soon as we pulled up to the school, the older kids in Safety Patrol came and took us inside. As soon as we entered the main hallway, I noticed Uncle Matt standing in the main office.
"Uncle Matt!" I yelled running over to him.
"Hey, girly how are you?" Uncle Matt smiled.
"What are you doing here?" I asked. His face suddenly grew serious.
"Well, Daddy S apparently isn't feeling to well and had to be taken to the doctors..." Uncle Matt explained. "And Daddy M wanted me to come and get you."
I then grew worried.
"Is Daddy S really sick?" I asked.
"Just a little bit right now." Uncle Matt said. "But he'll be okay."Uncle Matt then took me out of the school and into his car, where he drove me over to the doctors.
As we entered the doctors office, we went through the waiting room area and to the room both of my Daddies were at. I noticed Daddy S lying in a bed. He smiled as he saw me running towards him.
"Hey Em!" He smiled.
"Hi Daddy!" I responded, hugging him tightly.I then looked at him seriously.
"Daddy are you sick?" I asked him.
"I'll be fine, Em, don't you worry..." He assured me.Suddenly, the doctor came in and Matt took me out of the room so they could have their privacy.
After a few minutes, Mark came out, a worried and upset look on his face, but he looked at me assuringly.
"How's Daddy S?" I asked.
"Daddy S is going to be sick for a while, but he'll be taken care of in a little while and he'll be all better." He told me.I sighed. I didn't want him being sick for a long time. I wanted him to be better now. And it got me worried that I might get sick from him too.
I looked up at Uncle Matt, who was talking to Daddy M.
"How bad is it?" He asked Daddy M.
"They're saying stage 2." Daddy M explained. "And that it can be removed with surgery, which Sean and I both agreed to do."
"How long until then?" Uncle Matt asked.
"2-3 weeks at the most." Daddy M responded.
---
Being five at the time, I had no idea what Daddy M meant by Stage 2 or what surgery meant. But as I grew older, he explained to me that Daddy S had Stage 2 stomach cancer and that the surgery could get rid of it for good.
