Thirty-Seven: Opening gifts

Dear Diary,

I just got back from Boston. The convention was a whole lot of fun! I got to meet so many of my Dads' fans and most of them went and took pictures with me. There was actually one part of the convention however, when Lyndsey, Shannon and Taylor showed up. My Dads actually made them leave, and Lyndsey wasn't too happy about it and almost hurt me because of it. I felt bad (and terrified) about it at first, but then I just let it slide because they probably did deserve it. The last day of the convention was a panel and we played Cards Against Humanity, which of course I won. But the panel was cut short by everybody becoming out of hand. I still think me being out there was kind of the cause for it, but I'm not as worried about it as I was before.
We stayed a few more days in Boston for my birthday. Even though there really wasn't much to do there, I still had a ton of fun! We toured around Boston on the Duck Boat (and I even got to drive it at one point). And then we just explored some of the historical buildings. My Dads and I then decided to go over to Salem to learn more about the Witch Trials. There was actually a reenactment which involved the audience members. Daddy S was called out and proclaimed a witch because of how loud he was. They then used him to show how some of the "witches" were put to death. Even though it was fun to see my Dad up there as a volunteer, I couldn't help but think about how all of it was real way back when and how people really suffered.
Afterwards, me and my Dads went back into Boston and had a birthday dinner before going back to the hotel and packing up to go back home the next day.
When we got home the next day, we noticed that Chica had left several surprises all over the house for us, one of them was in my bedroom! Daddy M wasn't very happy, but was more mad at Uncle Matt and Uncle Ryan. It was a pretty funny conversation (at least to me it was) between my Dads and then.
But overall, I had a great time and I hope I get to go to another convention soon!

Dear Diary,

All of our gifts finally arrived! Daddy M and Daddy S are actually going to record them opening gifts and I get to be in it too! I can't wait to see what I got!

I went downstairs into the recording room where piles of boxes were already stacked up and ready for the recording.

"You excited to open some presents?" Daddy M asked.
"Yeah, I've been wanting to do this for days!" I said.
"Well now we're going to!" Daddy S exclaimed.

Moments later, Daddy S pressed record and Daddy S and Daddy M talked about the convention, and even about what we did in Boston afterwards, a small bit before we began opening gifts.

All the gifts were scattered and it was hard to tell some of them apart even though they were perfectly organized at the convention.

"Here's one for you Em." Daddy M said.

I smiled as I actually remember getting that bag from someone. I opened the small box, which had a shirt on it that said "The Boss Child!" With a picture of Septiceye Sam and a small crown on the top of it.

"Aw, that's so cute!" Daddy S smiled.
"There's a letter too, but it's for you guys!" I said, handing them the letter.
Daddy S opened the letter and read it aloud, "Jack and Mark, you have such a cute kid. Congratulations and thanks for all the hard work you guys do! Love Megan."
"Aww, thanks Megan!" Daddy M said facing the camera.

We continued opening gifts, each of us showing our gifts to the camera.

I then noticed a letter for me in one of the boxes. It had my name written in a pretty, cursive letter. My eyes widened as I recognized that same writing from the letter I got from Christmas... from a woman claiming to be my mother.

Dear Emily,

I'm sorry I could not be there to meet you in person, but I knew some family friends who were going to meet you and your fathers, so I have decided to give them this letter. They knew I was their birth mother but I told them not to say anything, so hopefully it worked.
I wrote this letter mainly to wish you a happy birthday. Yes, I remember the exact moment you were born and I haven't forgotten it since. I cannot believe how much you have grown and how much you have accomplished in your life. I am so proud of everything you have been able to do and I am so glad you are happy with your two fathers. It makes me happy whenever I see videos of you three together with your other family members. I know you probably have a lot of questions for me since my last letter to you, if you even got it in the first place, and I'm sure you have more questions even after reading this letter. I would rather you not know the answers. I just want you to be happy with your family. But I want you to know that I still love and think about you every day. This may be my last letter, this may not be, and if it is, I wish you the best of luck with your future.

I immediately walked out of the room, tears trickling down my face. Daddy M and Daddy S stopped what they were doing and followed me.

"Em, what's going on?" Daddy M asked.
"Mom wrote me another letter." I choked. "And someone she knew apparently gave it to me at the convention."

Daddy M took the letter from me and read it to himself.

"And this letter was in the boxes?" Daddy S asked. I nodded.
"This could be a cruel prank from one of our fans," Daddy M explained. "Because they know about you and how you were adopted a few years ago."
"Listen Em, I know you're very curious, worried and probably upset." Daddy S told me. "But for right now, we're not going to worry about these letters. If more letters keep coming in, then we will try and figure everything out, okay?"

I nodded. Daddy S then hugged me tightly. After a few moments, I calmed myself down and I headed back in to finish opening gifts. But I hid the letters in a secret place in my room just in case anything happened in the future.
