Dear Diary,

I got student of the month for my class for January! I also got a certificate during a pizza party in my class for being Satisfactory level, both in work and in behavior. When I told my Dads last night, Daddy S called me the "Boss of the Classroom". Knowing that he calls himself that around the house and during his job, I guess that makes sense.
Tomorrow I'm thinking of doing something I've been wanting to do a long time ago. I want to try and talk to Maddie. Not about anything major, I just want to tell her that I've moved on from her and I don't need to worry about anything anymore.

Hope it works! Wish me luck!

That next day after being dropped off, instead of going to the library before class, I went over to the playground. I thought the aides would see me and send me inside, but they didn't do anything.

I went over to the benches where Maddie, Ava and Kelly were sitting at. As soon as Maddie saw me, she scowled.

My heart began pounding out of my chest, feeling like I made the wrong decision and that soon I could possibly be in trouble. But I stayed right where I was.

I was no longer going to run away like a scared little girl anymore. After my experiences with dance and all the friends I have and the appreciation I've been given, I've come out of my shell and stopped being scared.

"Look who decided to finally come outside!" Maddie teased.
"Hey Maddie..." I casually responded.
"What do you want?" Maddie asked.

I took a deep breath and then sighed, speaking everything I basically rehearsed that was going on in my mind.

"I came here to thank you..." I responded.

She looked at me weirdly, but she also seemed surprised.

"Why are you thanking me?" Maddie asked.
"I'm thanking you for being a part of my life." I responded. "Because if it weren't for you being around bullying me and trying to turn me down, I wouldn't have been given these opportunities. Thanks to you, I've became a dancer, I'm in the petite group, I've also got a solo!"

I paused for a moment but then continued.

"Those dance classes have helped me become more confident as a person!" I continued.
"Who cares?" Maddie asked.
"I do!" I answered. "And so does everybody in my dance classes! They all love me!"
"They must be blind!" Maddie said, coming up with a response.
"A person doesn't have to see in order to tell if a person is good or bad." I responded. "They can tell just by what they feel around them."

I waited for a response, but I didn't get any.

"Goodbye, Maddie." I said before walking away.

As I walked back towards the school, my insides were flaring with fireworks, celebrating. And I could also here Daddy S's voice yelling "Get Rekt!" In the background.

Dear Diary,

I did it! I confronted Maddie and told her everything! I didn't screw up or look nervous or anything! I even left her speechless! This is probably the greatest day of my life!

That following day during lunch, I was sitting alone like usual and eating lunch.

Just then, I heard the clatter of trays coming from right next to me. I looked up, noticing Ava and Kelly sitting next to me.

All I did was stare at them.

"What?" Ava asked.
"W-Why are you sitting with me?" I asked.
"Because... We don't want to sit next to Maddie." Kelly responded.
"Since when?" I asked.
"Since what you did earlier today." Ava explained. "What you did was... Amazing! It made us feel the need to tell us how we felt about her too."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"The truth is... We stayed friends with Maddie and stayed away from you... Because we were scared." Kelly admitted. "We swear it had nothing to do with your Dads!"
"Why were you scared of her?" I asked.
"Because we knew if we admitted to liking you, she would hurt us." Ava said.
"But after you stood up to her, we felt like we needed to also!" Kelly said. "And it actually wasn't as bad as we had thought!"
"Does she hate you or anything?" I asked.
"I don't know..." Ava shrugged. "But we're not worried about it."

I looked down, staring at my tray of spaghetti, twisting the fork back and forth, just thinking.

"I don't know if I want to be friends with you again just yet." I said. "Because I spent several months thinking that you both hated me."
"We really don't!" Kelly said.
"Then why didn't you do anything when I decided to be in the library for the next two months?" I asked.
"Because, Maddie was the leader and basically wouldn't let us do anything!" Ava said. "We had to do whatever she wanted us to do!"
"Why didn't you tell anybody?" I asked.
"Because they wouldn't care..." Kelly responded.

I immediately thought of when I reported Maddie at the principals office and when Daddy M called them and they called back saying they couldn't do anything.

I then looked at Ava and Kelly. They both did look serious when they were talking. And I could suddenly feel that friendship that we had in the past suddenly come back and I suddenly felt that happiness come inside me again.

"Okay..." I said. "I'll give you one last chance!"

They both smiled and they both hugged me. They then began asking me all these questions about what dance was like. I couldn't help but answer.

It was nice to know I could finally tell somebody other than my Dads and the people at dance.
