"Em..." I heard a voice whisper to me while I was sleeping. "Em..." The same voice whispered again.
I slowly but surely opened my eyes, as my vision cleared, I noticed Daddy S beside the bed.
"Hey Em, it's time to get up." Daddy S told me.
I looked over at the alarm clock, it was 6:30 in the morning.
"Why do we have to get up so early?" I asked.
"Because we have to get ready for the convention, it's today!" Daddy S smiled. It took me a minute to wake up but as soon as what Daddy S said to me finally came to me, I immediately got up, went to my suitcase and got changed. I then sat down while Daddy S put my hair in a French braid.
"What if people come up to me and ask me for a photo?" I asked.
"Let them take a photo with you, unless you don't feel comfortable with that and we'll tell them to stop." Daddy S said.
"No, I definitely want to take photos with people!" I said.
"Just don't be upset if they don't, okay?" Daddy S asked.
"I won't." I responded. As soon as Daddy S got done, I noticed Daddy M coming out of the bathroom.
"Gee Mark, you spent like 10 minutes in there!" Daddy S said. "Does it take that long to check out your hair?"
"I wanna make sure the floof is still in tact." Daddy M sarcastically responded.Daddy M then looked at me and smiled.
"Are you ready?" Daddy M asked. I immediately nodded. "Alright, let's go!"
Daddy M, Daddy S and I went downstairs and into the limousine, which took us to the very back of the convention center away from the fans. It felt kind of creepy going through the back of the convention center, but once we were all in the main area, I felt much better. Although it was strangely empty since it was still preparing to open.
A couple minutes later, Uncle Felix, Uncle Ken, Uncle Bob and Uncle Wade came in the same way we did.
"Hey Emily!" Wade said giving me one of his big bear hugs.
"Wade, don't squish her please." Daddy M said.
"I'm not going to squish her." Wade assured them.Uncle Ken and Uncle Bob both gave me hugs before a staff member from the convention approached us.
"Okay so in a few minutes, we'll be opening the doors to let everybody in, then after the lines begin to pack up, we'll let them through to meet you guys." The staff member explained. She then looked at me. "Would you mind if you sat over at the table?"
"Uh... Sure..." I said.
Daddy S looked at the staff member, "Is it okay if she can meet some fans too if they go over to her?"
"That's fine, just as long as everything is under control." The staff member nodded.I smiled and walked over to the table and sat down. Not a few feet away from me, there were about two or three security guards guarding the perimeter of the fences.
As soon as the doors were open, hundreds of people immediately started gathering in line. After about ten more minutes, a security guard member let the first few people from the line in. They went to Uncle Ken, then to Uncle Bob, then to Uncle Wade, Uncle Felix, then to Daddy S and Daddy M.
I watched as one of the girls gave Daddy S a gift and the other girl gave a gift to Daddy M. They suddenly then looked at me, said something to Daddy S and then looked over to me. The girls then walked over to me with a big grin on their faces.
My heart began pounding out of my chest as the first group of girls came over to see me.
"Hi Emily!" One of the girls smiled.
"Um... Hi!" I said nervously.
"Would you mind if we took just one photo with you?" Another girl asked. "Jack said it was okay!"
"Okay!" I said a bit more confident. The group of girls then huddled around me as one of the girls outstretched her arm to take a selfie on her phone. I then looked at the camera with the biggest grin I could. She snapped about two to three photos at once before they all dispersed.
"Thank you so much!" The girls said. I smiled back and waved.
After they left, lots of other people came up to me, some even asking for my autograph. I wasn't as famous as my Dads but I didn't want to say no to them. I even some gifts too like my Dads did!
After about a couple of hours, security then huddled me, Daddy M, Daddy S, Uncle Felix, Uncle Bob, Uncle Wade and Uncle Ken together to leave for our lunch break. Daddy S held my hand tightly as we went through the crowd of people gathering to see us. My heart started racing as people started grabbing them. At one point, Daddy S fell behind for a second as fans grabbed the back of his hoodie, but he quickly ran back over to us.
Finally, we had reached the green room where we could finally get some space. I went over to Daddy S concerned.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"I'm fine!" Daddy S smiled assuringly. "It's happened to me a lot baby girl, don't worry."Uncle Ken and Uncle Felix approached me.
"Did you have fun?" Uncle Felix asked.
"Yeah!" I responded. "People took pictures with me, gave me gifts and I even got to sign some autographs!"
"Uh oh, I think somebody's growing above the rest of us here today!" Uncle Ken responded. "Maybe even more popular than Felix!"
"How dare you!" Uncle Felix jokingly responded. We then finally sat down and ate lunch that was provided before having to go through the crowd again and going back to meeting other people. This time, even more people came up to me and asked for photos, autographs, and gave me presents. Maybe Uncle Ken was right, maybe I was more becoming more popular than Uncle Felix. :P
Finally, the convention came to a close for the day and we all left the same way we came out. Daddy M, Daddy S and I came out of the convention with boxes full of gifts that were given to us. The driver of the limousine was able to put it all in his trunk.
"When are we going to open these gifts?" I asked.
"We'll wait until we get home and we'll all open our gifts together as a video, okay?" Daddy M asked. I nodded.I grew excited as we headed back to the hotel, and I could barely sleep because of how much I had to look forward to these next few days.
