A few weeks later, both Daddy S and Daddy M picked me up from school that Monday. It made me curious as to why both of them were picking me up. But they waited for me to get buckled in to tell me anything.

"Hey Em" Daddy M began. "Daddy S and I had a little talk about different activities for you to do after school, and after watching you dance a little out in the living room, we thought you'd enjoy going to a dance class."
"A dance class?" I asked.
"Yeah." Daddy S nodded. "We figured you would need something to get your mind off of school and making new friends."
"So starting today and Wednesday every week, we'll be taking you to dance class." Daddy M continued.

This came as kind of a surprise to me, but I kinda liked the idea of a dance class, so I decided to try it out.

When I got there, I was welcomed by my teacher Mrs. Mary, who would teach my ballet, tap and jazz classes. She gave us a quick tour of the building and gave me my first pair of ballet, jazz and tap shoes. Then, Daddy S decided to quickly change me into a leotard and tights before my first class.

"You enjoying this place so far?" Daddy S asked.
"Yeah!" I nodded.
"We came here before we picked you up and they told us all about the dance classes and we signed you up with a great teacher!" Daddy S explained.
"Do the teachers like you?" I asked.
"What do you mean?" Daddy S asked.
"Do they like you?" I asked. "Are they kind to you and Daddy M?"

Daddy S knew what I was talking about.

"Yes they are, they're very nice people!" Daddy S answered.

I smiled. This seemed like a place I could finally enjoy without any worries.

As soon as I got done getting dressed, Daddy S handed me my dance bag that had both my ballet and jazz shoes for both of the classes I would have today.

Dear Diary,

I had my first dance classes today. I had ballet and jazz class with Mrs. Mary. She's an awesome teacher, and she really liked me too. In ballet we learned how to plié in different positions and we learned heel stretches and how to point our toes, then we went across the floor doing different turns and jumps. Then, in Jazz class, we learned splits and straddles and did more across the floor stuff. I was surprisingly more flexible than some of the other girls my age. Mrs. Mary really liked that.
I haven't really talked to any of the kids there yet, but I have the same kids in my tap class so I'll talk to them then!

That Wednesday after school, I had my tap class. This time, Daddy M brought me over there all by himself right after school and got me changed into a leotard and tights.
Except after getting me changed, he left and I waited for my class to start.

As I was waiting, I saw another girl sitting at the other end of the row of chairs in the lobby. I recognized her from my first class. I went over to her.

"Hi!" I said.
"H-Hi..." She said back.
"My name is Emily!" I said.
"I know, you're in my classes." The girl said. "I'm May!"
"That's a really nice name!" I responded.
"Thank you, I like your name too!" May responded, sounding more confident.

Just then, two women approached May and knelt down next to her.

"Okay, May, I want you to be a good girl in class today, okay?" One women asked.
"Okay, Aunt Maggie!" May responded.
"Love you!" The other woman said.
"Love you two, Aunt Peggy." May said.

The two women both gave her a kiss before leaving the building. May then looked at me, almost shy again.

"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I-I'm scared to tell you..." May said.
"I won't say anything!" I promised.

She then sighed.

"Those two women are my aunts..." May explained. "But they're married to each other."

My face immediately lit up. I then leaned closer to her to tell her a secret.

"I have two daddies!" I explained to her. "Daddy S and Daddy M! Well, they're real names are Sean and Mark, but they want me to call them Daddy S and Daddy M!"

Her face then lit up.

"That's so cool!" May smiled. "What's it like?"
"It's awesome!" I responded. "I wish more people would like my Dads though."
"Yeah, same with my aunts." May sighed.
"Do you live with your aunts?" I asked.
"Just for right now." May responded. "My mom and dad are on a business trip."
"Cool!" I smiled.

Just then, we were called up into the classroom to begin classes. That entire time, me and May were talking about other things such as where we go to school and what we like to do. We had so much in common! So much more than my older friends! It was amazing!

As classes ended, I saw one of her aunts and Daddy S talking to each other. Me and May looked at each other, happy knowing that they were already getting along and we haven't even told them anything yet!

Sadly, we both had to leave and we couldn't see each other until Monday. But I was still super excited knowing I made a new friend!

Dear Diary,

I had my tap class today. Mrs. Mary how to do shuffles. We also learned how to tap on our heels and toes and we did more stuff across the floor. I think I'm getting used to dance class! I really like it!
I began talking to another girl in my class named May. She told me that she had two Aunts who were married and I immediately told her how I had two Dads. We immediately began talking from there. Even though she had a mom and a dad, it was good to finally meet somebody who had a family member who was married to another person of the same gender.  And what was even cooler was that when we left class, Daddy S and one of her Aunts were talking to each other! He thinks she's awesome!
I have a feeling that we are going to be good friends for a long time!
