                                         Epilogue

I thought I told you not to stress yourself.” A rueful grin kicked up one side of Ed’s mouth. I hid my face against his shoulder. “I know but I wanted to make you a special cookie. Today’s a special day.” I said as he bit the side of my neck just hard enough to get my attention.

“Yeah? What’s so special about it?” he teased. “It’s 6th of June. The day our love started.” I replied. “Hhmmn.” He murmured pulling away from my neck and turning me around in his arms, settling my back flush against him, so he could caress my big belly. The door opened and Ryan and Roland barged in. “Mum! Ryan fed my carrot to barney.” Roland shouted. “He fed mine to barney first.” Ryan defended himself.              Before either I or Ed could talk, they’d barged out of the door again. We watched as our 3 year old twin boys played in the backyard, chasing each other.

I looked up at him over my shoulder. “Has life lived up to all those dreams you had when we met?” “No,” he said and I frowned. “Its better, Fiona. So much better. And you?”

“Better. Perfect.” I felt our daughter kick and placed his hand on it. “We’re waiting for you. I’m waiting for you, your mother, grandparents and the twins.” He said.
