Silence filled the room she's staying at and Taeyeon sighed before putting down her phone. She looked at the colorless walls around her, the emptiness of the room was nothing compared to the emptiness she has inside. All her life, she lived in sorrow and misery after her mom's loss but she learned to stand up on her own feet.

Standing up, Taeyeon put a jacket around her body and picked her phone up deciding to take a walk around the park that's just below the apartment. Entering the elevator, Taeyeon came across a man holding her daughter who seemed to be just as young as a six years old, she watched how the father asked his daughter is she's feeling cold and how the daughter hugged her father tight.

She envied them, she wished that she can do that too and be close with her father again. The man who gave her life but she knows that he hates him to the extent that he disowns her. It hurts her so much but she too blames herself after her mom died, she never wished for anything like that to happen but it seems like fate played on her.

The sound of the elevator broke her chain of thoughts and stepping outside, she walked to the doors. The cold air greeted her and Taeyeon crossed her arms with her hands holding each both sides, she also tightened the thick cloth protecting her from getting cold.

She walked and looked up into the sky, she sighed. Why does she have to live like this? Did she do something wrong to be punished like this? Because if she did, she can't remember when and how. Because for all she remembers, she tried being the best daughter her parents could ever have.

She tried to be the best friend Yoona could ever lean on, she tried her best to be the nicest acquaintance Baekhyun would ever meet. But everything turned out different, her fear and cowardice came out knowing that the people she wants to be with is a world apart from her.

A worls apart that she knows she will never ever reach.

"It's already late.. Aren't you going in?" A familiar voice took Taeyeon by surprise causing her to flinch and turn around immediately.

"B-Baekhyun.. What are you doing here?" Taeyeon wondered. She looked around and immediately knew that Baekhyun would never be in a place like this, a place where her world only revolves.

"I live around the neighborhood.. I was taking a night jog when I saw you" Baekhyun simply answered and Taeyeon remembered that there's an exclusive village for the aristrocrats living there. It wasn't near nor it wasn't that far, so she knew that he might have just passed by and noticed her.

"Oh, is that it? By the way, I'm sorry--"

"You don't have to be sorry. I understand, but maybe you can give me a little chance to make you be my friend. It won't hurt right?" Baekhyun hopefully asked before taking a step forward and Taeyeon took a step back before letting out a sigh and looking straight into his eyes.

"I will Baekhyun. Trust me.." Taeyeon said and Baekhyun frowned before looking down on the pavement. "Are you afraid? All I'm asking is for us to be friends.." Baekhyun said or more like pleaded and Taeyeon sighed feeling a pang of guilt inside her heart, she doesn't know nor understand why Baekhyun suddenly became insterested on being her friend.

She wanted to but she knows she can't.

They're a world apart.

She cant reach him.

"I just don't want you to get involved into something I'm the reason at.. I don't want anybody to get hut because of me, I won't be able to take it" Taeyeon said and Baekhyun sighed before quickly taking her hand causing Taeyeon to flinch. She tried to take it but Baekhyun held on it tighter causing Taeyeon to stop pulling away from him.

"Just please.. be my friend. That's all I'm asking for" Baekhyun said and Taeyeon sighed before unwillingly and halfheartedly nodding her head and even for a bit, this caused Baekhyun to smile.

"I promise--"

"Don't promise me anything.. I'll be going now" Taeyeon said before pulling her hand away and walking back to her apartment and Baekhyun watched her enter the glass doors. He sighed, he knows that she just agreed because he forced her but what else can he do? He doesn't have any choices left anymore.

The next day, Baekhyun woke up early knowing that Taeyeon would be early at school too. Going down the living room early in the morning fully prepared already, Baekhyun quickly walked towards the door but at the same time he turned the knob. His father came out of his office too.

"You're early today.." His father said with a raspy voice and Baekhyun turned only to see his father still wearing his work clothes, the difference is that it's already crumpled and messy. Baekhyun just sighed upon seeing the sight infront of him but he understand his father though even when he still drinks himself to sleep just because he wants to forget his wife, Baekhyun is still thankful that his father never gets involve with different women.

"Yeah.. I have some things to do. Will you be alright here?" Baekhyun asked and his father nodded his head. "Just come back as early as you can and help with with the company files. Is that alright?" His father asked and Baekhyun doesn't have any choice but to nod his head. Eversince his mom left, Baekhyun was given responsibilities too, responsibilities that he cannot handle but knowing that his dad needs him and his help.

He did it with all of himself.

"Sure dad.. Be safe and work hard" Baekhyun said with a small smile and got out of the big wooden doors. "Mr. Han, I won't be needing a driver for today. Thank you" Baekhyun said as he entered his car and drove off. But he didn't went straight at school and parked his car at the parking lot of Taeyeon's apartment.

He waited at the park and not long after he saw her coming out. Seeing her leaving, Baekhyun ran to her and approached her.

"What are you doing here?" Taeyeon asked in surprise after stumbling a few steps backwards. Baekhyun only smiled a little as he scratched his nape.

"Since your house isn't that far, I thought why not we go to school together?" Baekhyun asked and Taeyeon frowned. "No we can't, they might see you" Taeyeon said and Baekhyun immediately knew what and who Taeyeon is talking about and letting out a sigh, Baekhyun also frowned.

"We don't have to mind them. Besides we're friends.. so we don't have to bother about anything" Baekhyun simply explained and Taeyeon sighed. She didn't have much sleep last night and her body feels like wanting to just rest for the whole day and knowing that debating with Baekhyun isn't a good thing too.

"Alright.. Let's go" Taeyeon said a she walked and Baekhyun followed her. They both arrived at the bus stop and Baekhyun fidgeted there knowing that he might get lost if ever Taeyeon would be out of his sight, truth to be told, it was his first time ridinga public vehicle and he isn't good at it.

"Is there something wrong?" Taeyeon asked upon noticing Baekhyun's actions. "Erm, no?" Baekhyun unsurely said and Taeyeon gave him a questioning look. Sighing in defeat, he knows that he can't hide it to Taeyeon any longer since he himself revealed it already by his actions.

"Just.. can I sit with you inside the bus? I'm not really familiar with public vehicles" Baekhyun nervously said which caused Taeyeon to smile and then later chuckle with his statement. "That's also the reason why I don't want you to go with me.. You should have just went to school without waiting for me anymore" Taeyeon said and Baekhyun took a deep breath.

"I.. actually did bring my car with me but knowing that you won't go with me if I asked you to let me give you a ride. I decided to leave it at the parking lot near your apartment" Baekhyun said and Taeyeon sighed. "Now see, just because you want to go with me, you're already suffering" Taeyeon said and Baekhyun smiled with reassurance before shaking his head and looking away.

"No.. I think being with you is fun"
