She heard it, she heard everything he had said.
She heard everything he sincerely confessed. She felt bad, she felt sorry but the fear and pain that was planted on her heart by him failed to disappear. It remained there in her heart, just like a deep wound that has turned to a big scar. The one that's never going to heal again, no matter what.
She believes it, yes she does. Her mind does. Her heart does.
But that was never enough.
"Taeyeon-ah.. are you still busy? Your friend's going home already!" Taeyeon heard her father said even when she's just right behind the door. Letting out a deep breath, Taeyeon opened the door and gave them a smile pretending that she didn't hear anything and it pained her.
To see his expectant face like that. She doesn't want to be hurt anymore neither she wants him to still be hurt too.
"Y-You're going home?" Taeyeon asked trying to hide the awkwardness that grew between them since they broke up. No they never talked about it but it's still clear that it's all a blur especially when they ended their relationship when both of them still feels the same way.
"Uhh.. not literally. I'll be back at the nearby hotel I've checked in" Baekhyun said with a smile. Masking his disappointment, yes he partly wished that Taeyeon heard what he said but the other part of him doesn't want to. Maybe because that part of him is still afraid to lose her completely.
"Let me accompany you then.." Taeyeon offered and Baekhyun smiled. "No.. it's alright" Baekhyun politely declined. Why wouldn't he? He wanted to, honestly but knowing that Taeyeon will go home alone, he already pushed that thought aside and declined her offer.
"I.. also need to buy something so.. let me accompany you then" Taeyeon said and Baekhyun scratched his nape and nodded his head. "Alright then.. uncle.. thank you for the dinner" Baekhyun said now turning to Mr. Kim. "It's not a big deal. I hope you can come back here some other time" Mr. Kim said with a warm smile and Baekhyun nodded his head and glanced at Taeyeon.
"Dad.. I'll be back after a few minutes. I'll buy something first, is that alright?" Taeyeon asked and Mr. Kim nodded his head. "Alright.. be safe" He told Taeyeon and she nodded her head. Walking towards the house gates, Baekhyun watched as Taeyeon walked ahead of him.
"Don't worry uncle.. I'll try to accompany her back" Baekhyun said and Mr. Kim smiled and patted his shoulder. "Don't bother.. talk it out to her. I can see something's not right between the two of you" Mr. Kim said with his eyes showing a bit of worry and Baekhyun smiled a little and nodded his head.
"I will uncle" Baekhyun said and gave the old man a bow before following Taeyeon who's already waiting by at the gate. Seeing him approach her, Taeyeon looked away and walked ahead only to feel him grab her wrist. Turning around Taeyeon raised her brows and looked back in the house checking if her father's still outside and fortunately he's not.
"What is it?" Taeyeon asked. "I'll accompany you.. where will you go?" Baekhyun asked and Taeyeon closed her mouth and gave him a small smile. "I'll just go somewhere nearby.. you go back now. It's already late" Taeyeon said with a smile and Baekhyun sighed and stared at her.
Noticing it, Taeyeon looked away feeling her heart beat faster. "Stop looking at me like that" Taeyeon said pulling her hand away from his hands.
"I-I'm sorry" Baekhyun said before awkwardly scratching his nape. "I-It's alright" Taeyeon said still looking away from him.
"C-Can we not be this awkward? I seriously hate it" Baekhyun suddenly spoke up and taeyeon composed herself before taking a deep. "A-Alright.." Taeyeon said with a forced smile and Baekhyun sighed before nodding his head.
"I'll see you tomorrow" Baekhyun said and Taeyeon furrowed her brows. "Aren't you going back?" Taeyeon asked and Baekhyun shook his head and stared straight into her eyes. "I'm not going back. Not until you're with me" He said before turning around and walking towards his car.
Stopping halfway, Baekhyun turned and gave her a small smile. "Tomorrow afternoon.. I'll pick you up here4. You can't ditch me" Baekhyun said trying to supress a grin but failed to do so and Taeyeon can't do anything but to nod her head. Turning again, Baekhyun walked towards his car and opened the door but before he gets in, he turn to Taeyeon again.
"Oh.. and thanks for the dinner. Your dad's the best.. Goodnight" Baekhyun said and Taeyeon nodded her head.
"Goodnight to you too"
The next day..
"You're going somewhere?" Mr. Kim asked as soon as he saw his daughter getting ready to leave. Nodding her head, Taeyeon approached her dad and gave her a small smile. "I can go right daddy?" Taeyeon asked and Mr. Kim chuckled before patting her cheeks lightly.
"Of course.. just don't go home late" Mr. Kim said and Taeyeon nodded her head and went towards the door.
"Do you want me to get you something before you go home?" Taeyeon asked and Mr. Kim pondered about it for a moment before supressing a wide grin. "Dukbokki? Can you get me those?" Mr. Kim asked and Taeyeon smiled before nodding her head.
"I will dad" Taeyeon said then walked towards the door when she heard her name being called by her father. "Taeyeon-ah" He said and Taeyeon tu8rned to him before she can even turn the knob. "Yes?" Taeyeon asked and saw her father getting a few bills from his wallet and handling it to her.
"Use it" He said. "I have enough dad.." Taeyeon said trying to kindly refuse. "Just take it" He said with a smile but seeing that his daughter isn't moving, Mr. Kim took his daughter hands opened it and put the bills over her hand and gave her a smile.
"Take it.. enjoy" Mr. Kim said as she pushed Taeyeon towards the door and Taeyeon chuckled before opening the door and going outside. waving at her dad Taeyeon walked towards the gates and there she saw a car in sight. Stopping infront of her, Taeyeon tried to smile a little when she saw Baekhyun stand infront of her and open the car door for her.
"Let's go?" Baekhyun asked and Taeyeon nodded her head.
Getting insde the car, Taeyeon fastened her seatbelt and leaned her head on the window. "Where are we going?" Taeyeon asked and Baekhyun smiled before giving her a glance. "It's a secret" Baekhyun said and Taeyeon just nodded her head.
Not long after, Baekhyun stopped the car and Taeyeon removed her head from the leaning at the seat and observed the place where Baekhyun brought her, about to touch the handle, Taeyeon flinched when the door suddenly opened.
"Let's go" Baekhyun said and Taeyeon nodded her head and removed the seatbelt around her and stepped out of the car. "Yatch club? You brought me here?" Taeyeon asked and Baekhyun nodded his head. "My uncle's a member of this club and he let me borrow the yacht for this day. Let's go, the yacht's waiting" Baekhyun said and before Taeyeon can even say anything, Baekhyun already pulled her towards the awaiting yacht.
"Step up.. we'll go" Baekhyun said as soon as they stopped infront of a white yacht, glancing at him Taeyeon gave Baekhyun a questioning look and Baekhyun chukled. Climbing up, Baekhyun offered his hand and Taeyeon took it and climbed up too.
"I'll start the yacht" Baekhyun said and Taeyeon furrowed her brows. "You know how to operate this?" Taeyeon asked and Baekhyun nodded his head. "I've done this a couple of times.. I do it when I want to be away from the city and when I want to be alone" Baekhyun explained and Taeyeon nodded her head.
Soon enough, they're at the middle of the sea.
"Beautiful" Taeyeon said while standing at the front edge of the yacht. The sun is already setting down and the sky is at its best rosy hue, reflecting the color of the sky on the other hand, the sea is calm. A think Baekhyun is thankful for, or else he won't be able to do this with her.
"You like it?" Baekhyun asked and Taeyeon nodded her head. "It's one of the reason why I do this too.. I like the view" Baekhyun said while looking at Taeyeon who's just staring at front. Nodding her head, Taeyeon turned to Baekhyun and he suddenly looked away.
"Are you hungry?" Baekhyun asked trying to divert Taeyeon's attention. "No.. I'm not" Taeyeon said and Baekhyun nodded his head. "Just tell me if you do so.. I've brought food" Baekhyun said and Taeyeon nodded her head. Soon after, a soft music played and Baekhyun furrowed his brows.
"I should turn that off--" Baekhyun said remembering that it's the player he set up to play automatically when he went to alone the last time he borrowed it from his uncle. "It's alright" Taeyeon said cutting him off. "Just let it be" Taeyeon said as she put her hands against the railing and supporting her chin while still staring into the vast sea but it seems like she regretted her decison when she heard the next song playing.

Taeyeon sighed. Can she stop it? No, she can't because she knows that the moments she asks Baekhyun to stop what is playing now will only kept his hopes up, their hopes up that something more can still happen to them.
No she doesn't want that.
No, it doesn't mean goodbye
It is goodbye, she thought.
No, it doesn't mean goodbye
He shook his head.
No, she already told me goodbye. She'll definitely forget me sooner or later. Baekhyun thought.
Should I forget her as well too? Baekhyun asked himself. His grip on the railings tightened, no he doesn't want to let her go he doesn't want to say goodbye to her. But the way she looks at him now is notlike the way she used to look at him before.
Screw this, he thought as the next song started to play.

Can I still hold you like that way I used to? Baekhyun thought and chuckled at the thought mentally.
No.. that's never gonna happen. There's no more us. Taeyeon thought.
So close to reaching that famous happy end
almost believing this was not pretend
I should have told her the truth. I almost had her, he thought.
Right.. I almost believed that he's not pretending and that it's all true, she thought.
and now you're beside me
and look how far we've come
so far, we are, so close
Almost.. so close. They both thought.
Oh how could I face
the faceless days
if I should lose you now?
I guess this is the end.. there's no more us..
