Five years later..
Everything.. has changed.
"Taeyeon-ah.. you should be getting ready you know" Yoona grumbled when she saw her friend still sitting infront of the mirror listening to some random music with her phone, closing the door behind her she walked towards Taeyeon and stood behind the latter's back who just kept staring at her own reflection in the mirror without even replying her a single word.
Come back and tell me why I'm feeling like I've missed you, all these time..
Taeyeon sighed. Twisting herself a bit, she gave Yoona weak look before looking back at herself in the mirror. "Are you having wedding jitters?" Yoona asked and Taeyeon shrugged her shoulders. "I don't.. I mean.. I'm nervous, I'm scared, I'm excited, I'm happy, I'm hesitant.. I don't know" Taeyeon groaned as she dropped her head on the table sighed for the umpteenth time. She hates what she feels.
"Hey.. look" Yoona said before placing her hands over Taeyeon shoulder, looking at the latter through the mirror. "I know it may sound crazy but do you still have to be afraid of taking another step further in your life? Taeyeon, you're going to marry a great man.. not a jerk so I don't think you should be nervous about this" Yoona said and Taeyeon bit her lower lip.
"Do you think he would run away?" Taeyeon asked and Yoona sighed. "He won't.. it's not like he lied to you like the old Baekhyun before right?" Yoona reminded and Taeyeon felt much more worse. Being reminded of the past is hard for her, yes she learned to let go of it but at times, it's inevitable.
She still has this part of her that gets scared with her past.
"Yoona.. don't remind me those. Baekhyun and I are in good terms now right? GOOD TERMS" Taeyeon pressed the last words and Yoona chuckled before shaking her head. "It's not like I'm badmouthing him right?" Yoona said and Taeyeon glared at her friend.
"You're just talking behind his back. He's not even here" Taeyeon answered and Yoona smirked. "You want him here?" Yoona teased and Taeyeon sighed. "I don't know what should I do with you anymore" Taeyeon said and Yoona bursted out laughing. She can see how Taeyeon changed the past years, she saw how Taeyeon tried not to be afraid of her past anymore.
She saw how Taeyeon found herself a better man.
The best man.
"Eyy.. I'll stop. Just get in your dress already! i bet your groom's waiting!" Yoona scolded before walking out of the room and Taeyeon grumbled before standing up and walking towards her dress that was on the bed. staring at it, a sudden flash happened and Taeyeon furrowed her brows.
His face.
Baekhyun's face.
"Urgh.. stupid wedding jitters" Taeyeon muttered under her breath before shaking her head.
"Wow.. you're..beautiful" Yoona said in awe as soon as Taeyeon went out of the room. looking down at her own self, Taeyeon gave Yoona an awkward smile causing the latter to burst out laughing. "Stop making that face" Yoona reminded and Taeyeon stuck her tongue out.
"Umma" They heard a voice called.
Turning their heads towards the voice, Taeyeon smiled when she saw her daughter. Yes, her daughter Nayeon. "Oh.. you're pretty" Taeyeon said as she welcomed the girl into a tight hug. "Just like you" Nayeon said with a grin. "What about me?" Yoona sulked and Taeyeon together with Nayeon chuckled.
"Of course I love you too" Nayeon said letting go of Taeyeon and hugging Yoona. Breaking their hug, Nayeon turned to Taeyeon with a satisfied smile on her face. "You look beautiful umma" Nayeon said and Taeyeon smiled brightly. Hearing it from the kid made her happy, of course, why wouldn't she? Nayeon's a special person to her.
"Really?" Taeyeon asked and nayeon nodded her head before showing her a thumbs up. "Yes" Nayeon answered.
"But I guess we have to go. You know, appa's been teasing us already saying that he doesn't understand why girls takes so much time to dress up. He also said that the groom wants to start the wedding already" Nayeon said before rolling her eyes and showing her phone to Taeyeon with Baekhyun's message in it. Meddling in, Yoona scrunched her brows and shook her head.
"Go tell that man that he's not the bride" Yoona grumbled and Taeyeon laughed.
"Just don't mind him. He's just too playful" Taeyeon said and Nayeon nodded her head agreeing with Taeyeon. "Appa is.." Nayeon said and Taeyeon shook her head. "Let's go.. we don't want be late don't we?" Taeyeon said and the two nodded their heads.
Following Taeyeon towards the car, the three rode their way towards the venue.
"Omo.. my princess is so pretty" Mr. Kim said as soon as Taeyeon got off the car. Hearing the organizer telling everyone inside that the bride came, Taeyeon shook her head as the people hurriedly gathered towards their respective roles and places.
Starting the ceremony, Taeyeon let out a deep nervous sigh as she held her dad's hand tight. "You're nervous?" Mr. Kim asked as soon as he felt his daughter's grip tightened. "A bit" Taeyeon answered and Mr. Kim chuckled.
"Don't worry.. I won't hand you to him if he's not a good man. Just remember, if it ever gets hard you can always come back home" Mr. Kim said with teary eyes and Taeyeon chuckled. "Aigoo.. daddy's getting emotional eh?" Taeyeon teased and Mr. Kim chuckled.
"Why wouldn't I? I'm giving my daughter away" Mr. Kim said as he pouted and Taeyeon laughed. "I'm still your daughter dad.. nothing will change even if I get married" Taeyeon answered confidently ands sincerely causing Mr. Kim to smile warmly and nod his head.
"I know.. I know" Mr. Kim answered and before they knew it. They're already walking inside the church.
Glancing at her father, Taeyeon smiled when she saw her dad smiling at her. Turning her gaze towards the sides, she saw Yoona and Kai at the other sides of the aisle. Nayeon a few seats back, Boa.. Heechul and her uncle. Looking at the front, Taeyeon smiled when her eyes met his.
They exchanged stares. Both not looking away.
Before she knew it, they already stopped. There, infront of the altar, infront of everyone.
"Take care of her alright?" Mr. Kim she heard her father said and all that she knows is that she felt warm hands intertwining with hers. Looking up, she saw his smile, his warm and happy smile. Standing there, infront of the priest..
Taeyeon took a deep breath. This is it.
For as long as I live I'll love you, will heaven hold you? You look so beautiful in white.
Glancing at him, Taeyeon smiled and felt his hands gently squeezing hers. Nodding her head, Taeyeon looked straight to her front, towards the priest turned towards her side and faced him.
She smiled. Not like the ones she did before, it was genuine and she knew it.
This is the beginning and not the end. It's just starting. She knows it.
Taking a deep breath, Taeyeon took the ring and shakingly held it up right infront of his awaiting hand.
One step closer..
"I, Kim Taeyeon, take you, Byun Baekhyun, to be my husband. To have and to hold. From this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish. As long as we both shall live" Taeyeon sincerely, wholeheartedly said.
One step closer..
Slipping the ring into his finger, Taeyeon smiled and looked up only to see Baekhyun's eyes brimming with tears. Watching him take a deep breath, Baekhyun also did that ring, held her hand, raised the ring up and made his vow.
"I, Byun Baekhyun, take you, Kim Taeyeon, to be my wife. To have and to hold. From this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish" Baekhyun paused and Taeyeon looked at him, brows furrowed and expectant eyes.
Giving her a smile, Baekhyun caressed the back of her palm and gave her a warm smile. A loving one.
"I know I told you that I'll search the whole world for you right?" Baekhyun continued and Taeyeon stood there. Surprised. He should be finishing his vow, but no, he's up to something else.
"I told I will. Because if I wouldn't, I wouldn't be standing here with you, exchanging these vows" Baekhyun added, tears flowed out of his eyes already and so as Taeyeon. "I told you're my life.. you changed me Taeyeon and I would never be who I am without by my side. I've made mistakes before, but I assure you that I would do my best not to make any of those again anymore" He stopped. He took a deep breath.
He stared into her eyes.
He stared into her soul.
One step closer..
"Today, we commit ourselves to live together for all the days that are about to come. I ask you to share the world with me, from this day on, I promise to live and laugh with you, to cry with you, to go crazy with you, I promise to stand by your side, to sleep in your arms, to be the reason of your happiness. I promise to struggle with you if problems come, I promise to comfort you with all I am, I promise that you'll have me fully, my honor, my achievements, my whole self and my soul, my heart. Thank you, thank you for filling my world with colors, thank you for making my life meaningful, thank you for loving me as I am, thank you for making me feel complete. I promise.. I promise to always love you. I promise to be faithful to you forever, I promise to still stand by your side, till the day I die"
He gave her the ring. She cried.
Looking up, his lips met hers and she could never feel any better than that. They may have gone through the bad times, the rough ones, they have been apart but Baekhyun proved her that he'll search the world for her. He did, he came to her, proved her that she's the only one inside his heart and now there they are.
Giving their promises to live together as long as they can. As long as they breath, as long as they live.
She felt nothing but happiness, she thought she could run away from him. But no, she couldn't. She can't.
Because at the end, he proved her, that she'll come back and that he'll always chase after her.
Putting her hands over his shoulders, Taeyeon pulled away and chuckled.
"I see why you're impatient earlier. You memorized those?" Taeyeon teased while everybody cheered for them. "No.. it came out from my heart you know" Baekhyun said and placed a kiss on her forehead. "Thank you" Taeyeon said as she pulled him closer and buried her face on his chest.
"For what?" Baekhyun asked. "For searching the whole world for me.. for coming back to my life and choosing to stay. Permanently" Taeyeon said as tears flowed out of her eyes again. Taking the honor to wipe those tears away from his wife's eyes.
I will never stop losing my breath every time I see you looking back at me..
His wife.
I will never stop holding your hand, I will never stop opening your door..
Finally.
I will never stop choosing you..
Baekhyun smiled lovingly.
I will never get used to you..
"Our eternity begins.." Baekhyun whispered placing his forehead above hers. Smiling back, Taeyeon nodded her head.
"I'm happy to have eternity with you"
