Book 3: TWO WORLDS: The Beginning of the End (On Going)

Chapter 22

"Why? Why are you doing this to me?" Baekhyun asked not caring if he raised his voice anymore. They just got close, they just built that precious friendship but how come Taeyeon can break it easily when he, himself cannot.
"Baekhyun.. trust me, it's hard for me too but I don't want to hurt you and expect something from me that I, myself cannot give you" Taeyeon said and her gaze dropped.
It hurts her too. Badly.
"You gave this friendship! How come you take it back now?" Baekhyun asked with his voice full of pain. All his life, he never felt such warmth and love that Taeyeon gives him.
"Because I don't want us to cross the line from being friends. I have to stop this before it turns to be something more" Taeyeon said and Baekhyun sighed in frustration.
"What are you afraid of? Tell me we can do this together" Baekhyun said or more like pleaded. His eyes bore unto the pair of brown pros that was staring at him, he hated the look on her face.
He can't tell anything. He doesn't know what she feels. Her gaze is blank.
She's good at hiding.
"I'm not afraid of anything but I just don't want to hurt you. You can be mad at me or even curse me but I'm really sorry for breaking this friendship apart. You'll know soon enough what I did this.."
Taeyeon said and with that she walked away from him. From the guy that 'almost' made her believe and fall in love.
He's broken, his heart is battered mercilessly.
Did he fell in love with the wrong girl? But loving her felt right to him and for the first time in his life, loving Taeyeon was the only choice he made, without being forced.
Why can't they just be friends? It will be alright with him as long as he can get close to her. Call him a masochist but he fell hard for her.
Tears continuously fall from his eyes. He shouldn't be crying like that but he can't help it. His mind is not cooperating well with his heart.
Don't leave me.
He wanted to say those words other but he's afraid that she might just drift away from him. What should he do now?
It hurts. It badly hurts.
A shiny thing caught his eyes. Baekhyun take small steps towards the shiny thing and looked closed since his blurred eyes can hardly see anymore.
He picked it up and saw that it was a little blue toy ring. Is it Taeyeon's? His mind suddenly thought. Now what should he do to completely forget her too?
"There you are.." he heard Kai's voice. He knew it was his friend without even looking and bothering to look up, his head just kept hanging low trying hard to hide his tears.
"Let's leave.." Baekhyun said with his cracked and hoarse voice. Kai suddenly grabbed his shoulder making him stop halfway.
He saw Kai lowering his head and saw to see his face.
"What happened to you and Taeyeon?" Kai asked Baekhyun didn't said even a single word.
"Nothing happened.. let's go" Baekhyun and was about to walk again when Kai stopped him. Baekhyun just shook hisvhrad mentioning Kai to step aside but Kai didn't.
"Tell me.."
"I'm freaking rejected! She said she doesn't want me to be friend anymore! Now I told you everything let! Go! Of! Me!" Baekhyun shouted before yanking Kai's hand off his shoulder and storming away.
He's desperate.
He hated it.
Baekhyun went back at his place not caring his parent's gaze as soon as he entered the door. He's not bothered by it anyway.
He heard a soft knock on the door and he heard it creaked a little but he kept his face buried on the pillow. He felt the move a bit and he knew that it was his mom.
"I don't need you here leave me.. I'm fine without you anyways" Baekhyun said and he felt her hand on his shoulder. Baekhyun bit his lower lip hardly just to prevent his sobs.
He doesn't want them to see him likened that. He doesn't want them seeing him weak.
Because he knows that his father won't like it.
"Baekhyun-ah.. don't say--"
"I said leave me now.. I want to sleep" Baekhyun said and he heard a sigh before hearing the door close. He turned his body and stared at the ceiling as tears kept flowing.
He hates it.
The next day came by and Baekhyun heavily and glumly walked out of his house and pedaled his way to school. Baekhyun stopped at the same old spot where he used to stare at her but everything seemed different that day.
He didn't see her. She's nowhere to be found.
His friend Kai had been worried about him too. He apologized immediately to him when they met at school and Kai was understanding enough to let his mistake pass.
After school, they met a crying Yoona in front of the school gates. He felt his heart dropped, he felt his head thronged in pain.
Yoona told them that Taeyeon transferred to another school.
Far away from them.
Far away from him.
He ran away  not believing a single thing that Yoona said. Does she really wanted to avoid him that much that it got to he point of her leaving?
Is this what she meant when she said that he'll understand her reason why she doesn't want him to be his friend anymore?
"Taeyeon!"
He called desperately, he's standing infront of the white empty house. The rain had poured already and he didn't care, he shouted her name repeatedly until he felt weak.
He gripped on the metal gates. His head looking down as he sobbed harder, he's drenched but he could care less.
Knowing that she left made him hurt greatly.
"Taeyeon.. please..no"
The raindrop blocked her view out of the car she's riding. She traced the marks made by the droplets of water and it was followed by a sigh.
She left without even saying a goodbye.
She knows that it's wrong but she knows that she won't be able to leave when she sees his face.
They both took a deep breath.
It's the start of their new life.
"She's gone.."
"I'm sorry Baekhyun.."
