"Stop fooling around.. I don't like this. You're lying" Baekhyun said trying his best not to believe what he just heard from her. The pain he felt doubled when he heard her statement and he would be lying if he says that he's not because he really is.
"I'm not lying" Taeyeon reasoned out. "Then why can't you jsut be with me?! I'll follow you everywhere! I'll chase after you! Whgat do you want me to do?! What do you want me to be?! I'll be anything you want me to be, just please.. please take me back again" Baekhyun said, his voice getting weaker as he fell down kneeling on the ground.
Taeyeon was, of course, surprised. Why would he beg? She's the one hurting him now, and not the other way around.
"You want to know why? Because I'm afraid, I don't want to fall inlove with you over again and be hurt for the second because I know that I won't be able to take it if something like this happens for the second time. I hate to do this too, believe me but I'll just hurt you. Didn't you hear me earlier? I'm leaving for good, I don't want you to leave your life behind just because of me, I don't want you to be anything you don't want to be just because of me. I'll be selfish if that happens" Taeyeon answered with fear visible in her eyes.
Shaking her head, Baekhyun sniffed and wiped his tears with the back of his hand.
"It's my fault.. I know it's my fault that's why you turned out this way" Baekhyun stated and Taeyeon sighed. "I don't want you to keep hurting. I'm afraid.. I'm afraid" Taeyeon said and Baekhyun stood up before looking straight into her eyes. Taking a step forward, Baekhyun quickly engulfed her into a hug and Taeyeon tried to escape from his arms but failed when she found herself getting weak.
"I'm here.. let's face it together. If anything happens bad between us again, we'll try to reseolve it just don't leave me. I don't know what my life will be without you, believe me" Baekhyun said before pushing Taeyeon a little and when he looked into her face, it was already tear-strained.
"But I'm leaving" Taeyeon answered and Baekhyun sighed.
"I'll wait. Until you come back.. I won't go after you anymore, if you want me to stay here then I'll stay but believe me I won't love anyone else anymore other than you" Baekhyun said while looking straight into Taeyeon's eyes. "How can you say something like that?" Taeyeon asked and Baekhyun smiled bitterly.
"Because I love you" Baekhyun answered. "But it was just a deal right?" Taeyeon replied.
"I don't care about it anymore. Screw our deal, I fell inlove with you. I'm in love with you"
"But I'm.."
"I'll wait."
"What if I don't come back anymore?"
"I'll search the world for you"
"I don't want to hurt you.. I don't want to" Taeyeon said and Baekhyun hugged her again but this time, unlike before, Taeyeon didn't resist to him anymore. "You're not.. you're not hurting me" Baekyhun said and partly lied. Of course she's hurting him, but if lying to her is the only way for him to keep her by his side then so be it.
He doesn't care anymore.
He just want her.
"I'm sorry" Taeyeon said while sobbing and Baekhyun shook his head and hushed her to stop crying. "Shh.. thre's nothing to be sorry about" Baekhyun said and Taeyeon soon enough calmed down and pulled herself away from him before wiping her own tears.
"When.. when will you leave?" Baekhyun asked braving himself to hear her answer even when he's afraid.
"I.." Taeyeon said trying to find the right words to say. "When?" Baekhyun asked again.
"The day after tomorrow"
He froze.
There's not much time.
"You will leave? Again?" Nayeon asked with her tears brimming. Nodding her head, Taeyeon held both of Nayeon's shoulder and looked straight into the little girl's eyes. "I'm sorry.. but I need to leave. I.. I will try to go back here but promise me to be a good girl first" Taeyeon said but Nayeon pried Taeyeon's hands off her and ran towards her bed and cried.
"You left me before. You don't love me" Nayeon said with her voice muffled by the pillow. "Hey.. don't say such things like that. It's hard for me to go too but I have. Nayeon, please understand" Taeyeon begged but Nayeon pulled the blanket over her and covered her full body.
Letting out a sigh, Taeyeon tried to remove the blanket but Nayeon's grip on it tightened. She knew that the little girl grew attached to her too and it's painful for her to find out that she's leaving but Taeyeon doesn't want to leave without saying goodbye neither to depart without even seeing the little girl she treated as her own.
It pained her too, seeing Nayeon crying because of her.
"Nayeon-ah.. I'll try my best to visit you. Nayeon" Taeyeon called but Nayeon still didn't face her. Shaking her head, Taeyeon retracted her hand and sighed again. It's already less than a day before she leaves yet Nayeon is still there, not wanting to talk to her.
"I don't want to" Nayeon answered. Trying her best to remove the blanket over Nayeon, Taeyeon pulled Nayeon to sit up and let out a deep sigh when she saw the little girl's bloodshot eyes. "Then.. what about we make a deal?" Taeyeon asked and Nayeon furrowed her brows.
"Deal?" Nayeon asked and Taeyeon smiled before nodding her head. "What is it?" Nayeon asked completely forgetting that she's sulking earlier. "After I graduate from school. I'll take you with me.. and you will be with me" Taeyeon said and Nayeon furrowed her brows.
"For real?" Nayeon asked and Taeyeon smiled before nodding her head. She knew Nayeon's already an orphan, the little girl had no where to go anymore besides the Kangta's hospital and thinking that she's alone anyways, maybe it wouldn't hurt to take the little girl with her.
"For real. I'll come back here, and take you with me" Taeyeon said with a smile plastered on her face. "I'll ride on the plane?" Nayeon asked and Taeyeon chuckled before nodding her head. Seeing how the little be excited about their sudden plans made her happy too.
"You will. So in the meantime, you better be a good girl alright?" Taeyeon said and Nayeon nodded her head furiously. "I will umma" Nayeon said and Taeyeon opened her arms. "Now give me a hug" Taeyeon said and Nayeon immediately jumped on her and hugged her tight.
"I'll see you again umma" Nayeon said and Taeyeon nodded her head. "What should we do now? Umma technically still have.. hmm.. 10 more hours" Taeyeon said and Nayeon smiled. "Play?" Nayeon asked but before Taeyeon could answer, the door creaked open and Taeyeon froze when she recognized the person who just entered.
"Appa!" Nayeon suddenly said. Jumping off her bed, Nayeon ran towards Baekhyun and hugged him tight. "Hey there princess" Baekhyun greeted before taking her into his arms. turning to Taeyeon, he gave her a questioning look.
"I thought you're back home" Baekhyun said completely remembering that Taeyeon left him standing at the school grounds right after she told him when she'll leave. He clearly remembered how she told him that she's going to be back in her hometown and for him not to go and see her there anymore. But then there she is, inside Nayeon's room, frozen.
Is it possible that Taeyeon lied? But she never lies. Baekhyun thought.
"I.." Taeyeon answered. She can't tell him that she lied, she knows she can but she doesn't want to.
"You lied?" Baekhyun asked, calmly. "Kind of" Taeyeon answered.
"So.. you've been here all these while and not back in your hometown?" Baekhyun asked and Taeyeon nodded her head. "Dad decided to check in one of the hotels here after he found out that I came here to see your competition, he said that it would be better to ask Heechul oppa to bring our things here so we don't have go into a hard time moving from the hometown and.. to.. the airport" Taeyeon explained and Baekhyun nodded his head. "Heechul oppa? Who is he to you?" Baekhyun suddenly asked and Taeyeon furrowed her brows.
"He's my cousin" Taeyeon answered and Baekhyun nodded his head. Putting Nayeon down, Baekhyun patted the little girl's forehead and motioned her to go back to bed. "You'll.. leave tomorrow right?" Baekhyun asked and Taeyeon nodded her head.
"Yoona knows already?" Baekhyun asked before settling himself on the couch inside Nayeon's room. "I called her right after I came back from the competition that night" Taeyeon answered. "What did she say then?" Baekhyun asked trying to keep his emotions hidden behind his blank face and flat voice.
"She's shocked. But.. nevertheless supported me. She said that if it's for the best.. then.. she's with me" Taeyeon answered carefully. No, she doesn't want to create another argument with him, not when she's leaving in a few hours.
"Oh"
That's all that Baekhyun could say. "She's taking you to the airport then?" Baekhyun asked and Taeyeon slowly nodded her head. taking a deep breath, Baekhyun looked straight into her eyes.
"Can I come?" Baekhyun asked taking Taeyeon by surprise. "You.. what?" Taeyeon asked not believing what she just heard.
"I'll send you off" Baekhyun said and Taeyeon just kept silent. "You don't want to?" Baekhyun asked and Taeyeon sighed before shaking her head.
"It's just that--" Taeyeon said trying to make him remember everything she said that night back in the competion but before she can even finish her sentence. Baekhyun already cut her off.
"I told you.. I'll wait"
