Florence went to the bathroom to wash her face, she received a text message.

*Hey baby cakes, I need another job doing meet me at that corner at 10pm.*

She had to reply.

“Okay.”

She felt sick, tears flowed and she sat against the wall crying her eyes out.

After a while she composed herself, despite the blood shot eyes and the snuffles she looked fine.

She took a deep breath and walked out the door, it was nearing 7pm, she had been in the toilet for more than 2 hours now.

Will spotted her. “We’ve been looking for you everywhere.”

“Sorry, I was just in the bathroom.”

“DAN, I FOUND HER!” He yelled across the long room.

Dan ran over and looked at her.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah I’m fine.”

Dan took her aside.

“I know you’re lying.”

“I have to go, a friend needs me. I’ll catch the bus.”

“Don’t go, you know what will happen.”

“I don’t choose to walk out of here. I’ll come round tomorrow morning.”

“If you’re not in prison.” He muttered.

“Dan, not now please.” A tear escaped onto her cheek. Florence didn’t cry very often and Dan hated to see her crying.

“You need to tell me what’s happening some time.”

“I know. I’m sorry I have to go.”

It took two hours to get home; she got ready and waited at the corner.

Gav was there and they walked to his car.

“What am I doing this time?” She asked him getting into the car.

“We’re meeting up with some friends.”

Florence stayed quiet.

They parked outside of a grotty bungalow.

She followed Gav inside. They were greeted by a tall man with a beard and a short man who was bald, they shook hands with Gav and the tall man stroked Florence’s cheek, she flinched.

“What a rose.” The smell of his breath made her feel even sicker.

She was sat between Gav and the tall man.

She wasn’t paying much attention to what they were talking about, all she heard was about a hit and run, someone getting caught, decoy, she felt too sick to understand and her head hurt.

Suddenly Gav got up and shook the men’s hands again.

‘Why did I have to come?’ Florence thought.

The tall man stroked her arm.

“He’s lucky to have such a fine woman,” He tightened his grip, “if any word gets out of this meeting I will find you, do you understand?”

Florence nodded and he let go of her.
