“But I need him. What am I supposed to do with his stuff, how will I tell his family?”

“I’ll help you with that; we’ll sort it out in the day. Get some sleep sis.”

She nodded and walked into the bedroom.

She cuddled Dan’s pillow hoping it was all a dream and tried to fall asleep but she couldn’t.

All she heard was the gunshot and she saw his face.

She woke up screaming.

John ran in. She thought he was Dan for a moment.

“Are you okay?” He asked.

“Please tell me it’s a dream, he can’t be dead, he can’t be dead.” She sat there muttering.

John held her.

“It’s not going to be easy, but you can get through this.”

“I was the one, who was supposed to die, he…he’s …” She started crying again.

“Why don’t you have a bath, it might relax you a bit.” John suggested and Florence agreed.

She sat in the bath. Then she pulled herself under.

“You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve…” She heard in her head.

She thought of every moment she had with Dan.

When they met, when Dan asked her out, when they friend zoned eachother, when Dan said he’d marry her one day even if it was a joke, when Kyle chopped some of Dan’s hair off and he freaked, all the times with the band, and the latest memories, being able to open up to Dan, Dan meeting her brother, when he told her he loved her, the kisses and when he set her free with his own life.

“You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve…” She heard again but, it didn’t sound like it was her head.

“..And I have always buried them deep beneath the ground…” She resurfaced.

Someone was singing. She got out the bath and dried herself quickly and got back into her pyjamas.
