The next day everyone was up early.
Dan looked at Florence putting her bulletproof jacket on.
He walked over to Nicholas.
“We can’t let her go Nick.” He said.
“Do you think we have a choice?”
“Yes, we do, I can’t see her get hurt.”
“What are you thinking?”
“Locking her in the room.”
“She’ll hate you.”
“I know, but she’d understand.”
“We’ll meet you out the front.” Nick said taking the band.
Dan took Florence to their room and sat her down.
“You know I love you.” He said.
“Yes, Daniel we have to go now.”
“Wait, I said I’d protect you.”
“Yes and you have done that.”
Dan kissed her taking her by surprise, then he pushed her back, ran out the door and locked her in.
She ran to the door.
“Dan, no, no you can’t do this.” She said trying to open the door.
“You’ll be safe.”
“I have to be with you.”
“Florence, I love you and we can handle this.”
“Dan, you can’t someone’s going to get hurt, you’re not trained, I have your back.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Dan, if you leave I will hate you.” She put her hand against the window.
