“Most likely.”
“So you don’t know whether he hurt her?”
“No, but with all due respect he did shoot me, ask any of the police officers there that day.”
More questions were asked and Gav was interrogated.
Florence held Dan’s hand tight.
Everyone was discussing it and then the judge sat on his seat.
Florence felt scared.
“Mr Gavin McFadden has been found guilty, he will be sentenced to prison for 8 years.”
Florence looked at Gav and he just winked at her and walked out.
She felt uncomfortable and walked out with Dan.
As soon as they got out Dan hugged her and she smiled.
“8 years we don’t have to worry about and by then we would’ve moved into a bigger house for our kids.” Dan said.
Florence went bright red.
“Did I just say what I was thinking?”
She nodded.
“If we like eachother through 8 years.”
“If my dad likes you.”
“I should get you back home.”
The drive was less uncomfortable than on the way there.
Florence felt happy.
When they got back she hugged her mother and father and told them the verdict and they were happy too.
“We must celebrate.” Her father said. Dan was stood at the door.
“I’ll get off then.” He said and Florence creased her face to look sad.
