“You’ve always buried them, deep beneath the ground, but I don’t want to dig them up.” She said.

“We need to keep running, he might have tracked us.” Dan said, but Florence just sat there staring into space.

Her dad and Dan started arguing but she didn’t take any notice of what they were saying.

Daisy sat beside her and linked her hand.

“Everything is going to be okay.” She whispered.

As Florence closed her eyes, she saw her mother’s face.

“Florence, what should we do?” Her father asked.

She stood up and smiled at him.

“We mustn’t do anything; it’s what I should do.”

“What do you mean?” Dan asked.

“If you are to be free, I must set Gav free and then…”

“What? Jump off a cliff? Florence, look at me. We can find a way, you and me we can run, run like the wind and no-one will ever catch us, I’m sure the CIA could help if we got in touch.” Dan said.

There was a crackling noise.

Florence didn’t hear it at first.

“I can’t just call the CIA, I don’t even know what number, it’s probably 007 something.”

“What is that noise?” Her dad asked. It was coming out of Florence’s bag.

Dan opened it up and there was the walkie talkie.

“Hello, is anyone there over?”

“Sounds like Nick.” Dan said.

“I don’t know whether we can trust him.” She replied.

“I have faith in him yet and if he betrays us, I will break his nose.”

“Ouch, that does sound painful.” Daisy said, which made Dan laugh.
