“No she’s better.” The woman stated.
“She’s attracted to danger that’s for sure.” Nick replied.
“I never wanted this life for her.”
“She’s happy though.”
“But she’s suffered.”
“And she found Dan, if she hadn’t then we wouldn’t be standing here, we’d be looking at a gravestone.” Nick frowned.
The woman nodded, and turned to walk to the door into the building.
“Dan knows, Mara.” He carried on.
“Florence must never know!” She said sternly.
“I know, but she deserves to, she’ll find out sooner or later.” Nick said and walked off into the building.
Mara Heathcliff stared over at her daughter and her husband. She let a tear run down her cheek but she wiped it away and followed Nick.
Florence smiled, she usually put it on but this was real, it was genuine. Naturally, she felt happy and that felt good, she had been through challenges but she got through them. She had Dan and it felt too good to be true.
Dan hugged her. “Are you alright?” He asked.
“Yeah, just feel like I’m in a dream.”
“Tell me about it, I never thought I’d get you.”
“Oh shut up.” She punched him in the arm.
“What? It’s true.”
“It’s cheesy.”
“But true. Where shall we go on our honeymoon?”
“Bastille, France?” Florence suggested.
“Now that’s cheesy!”
“No it isn’t its common sense.”
“It’s cheesy.” They laughed.
