Her mother called the doctors that moment and then drove Florence to the doctors.
Florence was shaking.
“Miss Heathcliff, I’m afraid you do have breast cancer, but it’s in its early stages and we can cure it, but we’ll get you on chemotherapy as soon as we can.”
Florence felt numb but nodded.
Everything went so fast, her parents decided not to tell Daisy yet.
Florence smirked at her parents.
“It’ll be fine, my hair will go but I always hated my hair anyway.” She said positively.
“We could shave it.” Her dad suggested.
“Oh what will Daniel say?” Her mother replied.
Florence looked at her.
“I forgot about him. I haven’t told him.”
“Why?”
“If I tell Dan he will want to be with me all the time, but if he does that his music career would go down the drain, I’ll wait until he visits and he can see my shaved head then.” She smiled.
That night Daisy sat laughing at Florence as all her brown locks fell from her head, they didn’t shave it completely but she had a short hairstyle.
She dyed it red after a few days and rested for a few days.
The Doctor called and set the chemo dates.
She had attended a few sessions and she started feeling better, but the doctor had suggested surgery too, to be clear it all goes. She hadn’t heard from Dan.
On a certain Wednesday, she had gone for her chemotherapy and then went food shopping.
Dan was at her house waiting.
She danced through the door singing to the iPod Dan had bought her. She sang and put the shopping in the kitchen then ran and jumped on a beanbag in the living room.
Where she was met by her parents, the band and Daisy.
“Hello everybody.” She laughed.
