She slipped it onto her wedding finger and smiled. But she frowned, Gav had gone into prison and his friends would find out soon, she needed to tell the police. She yawned and fell asleep.
She woke up before Dan and looked at the ring.
Why didn’t she say yes? She could still say yes. She felt so awkward though and she wasn’t sure.
Dan saw her looking at the ring.
“You don’t have to say yes.” He said making her jump.
“Dan you freaked the life out of me.”
“Sorry.”
“No I am, for freaking out over everything.”
“I shouldn’t have asked so quickly you were getting over me still being alive.”
“The ring is nice.” She smiled.
“I thought you might like it.”
“But I’m not free yet.”
“Gav’s associates?”
“Yes, but I’ll file a report to the police after.”
There was an awkward silence.
“I’m sorry for pretending to be dead.”
“You just wanted to see my response.”
“But it’s a cruel joke.”
“Well you should’ve thought about it before you died.” She said getting up to get changed.
“Flo…” He said but she slammed the door behind her.
She slid to the floor for a moment, she felt mad at him but she felt so happy, she didn’t know how to feel.
He knocked on the door and came in.
“I want to marry you.” He said.
