Chapter 21
A/N: hai hai readers! How's everyone feeling today? I'm in a great mood. Thought slightly less now because my coffee is finished :( anyway, HERE IS THE NEW CHAPTER! Deal's the same: 10 votes on the chapter and I'll update again. Gif to the side is Walt at the wedding! Enjoy xx
Walt's POV (A few weeks into Nat's relationship.)
It's honestly pathetic. It shouldn't be possible to miss someone's company so much. It's been roughly three weeks since Nat and Nick got together. My life has sucked. Nat spends almost all her day time with him. True, she smiles more often and laughs louder but still. Happiness is literally etched across her face. But the thing is there's something shady about Nick. His name brings disgust to my mind. He's met me twice and he didn't refrain from PDA. It was a little bit disturbing. So, when I played Black Ops that night, I imagined that Nick was everything I shot. Judge me, I was releaving stress!
To add to that, Nat and I kept getting into arguments; somehow they always ended up being about the idiot of her boyfriend. To sum it all up, Nat and I hadn't talked in about two weeks.
"Mr. Smith, there is someone here to see you." The door opened and a figure walked in. I didn't move my eyes from my game. The figure walked over to where I was sitting and fell into the other bean bag.
"I hope you're not expecting company."
"Not today. Lucas is taking Liz out for dinner. I plan on spending my Friday like a loner." The smell of her perfume drifted to my nose.
"Oh. It's been a while since I spoke to them..."
"It's been a while since you spoke to anyone, for that matter." The sound of my machine gun filled in the silence. Neither of us said anything. I couldn't help thinking back to two weeks ago.
-Two weeks ago-
We weren't exactly supposed to argue. I mean, it was supposed to be friendly advice on my part. And maybe I had said it rudely. But whatever.
"Look he's not a good guy. One thing Eric and I agree on it's that." Eric and I had talked a few days back when Nat had tagged him along to one of the parties in the first week of December.
"Can you just shut up? All of you are always trying to bring us down."
"You're imagining forever with this guy. The minute he gets what he's after, he's gonna walk out on you. Why don't you understand that?!" For someone as intelligent and smart as Nat, she was being awfully dense on the subject.
"How'd you know?"
"I know guys like him."
"You mean you are like him..."
"I don't know if I should take offence to that..." I mumbled to myself. Nat rubbed her eyes.
"Why is this any of your business?"
"Look Nat, we're trying to look out for you."
"I'm old enough to look after myself? Just stop it. All of you."
"Fine. When he breaks your heart don't come to me. I'll give you the exact same answer you're giving me."
I did not see the slap that hit me. Even for someone as gentle as Nat, damn that slap stung.
"Get. Out."
"I'm sorry?"
"Get out of my house. I don't want to see you here. Get out Walt. And please, for my sake, don't come back." The next morning, Nat texted me saying that she didn't need rides to school anymore. Fine with me; now I could take whoever I was with to school.
