Ableism

Okay guys so I was reading currently one of my favorite rant books blackgirlwoes by aespathetics. She said and I quote (she wrote this in capitals btw so like reason why I'm writing it in capitals) " JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE A RELATIVE WHO IS AUTISTIC, IT DOESN"T MEAN CANNOT BE ABLEIST." And I'm here like, what's an ableist?

Well lemme tell you something my kiddies. It's some shit that pissed me off I swear I almost threw my goddamn phone across the room. 

You would think I wouldn't be surprised considering people are discriminated against for pretty much anything these days. From of course skin color, all the way down to their lifestyle. So discrimination ain't nothing new. 

But ableism? Discrimination or prejudice against individuals with disabilities? 

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

The idea of this is sick to my stomach. I mean discrimination makes me want to throw up and pull my hair. 

But like there are actually cold hearted ass people out there who will stoop so low to mock those with a disability. Like damn the world is fucked up on so many different levels, including sea levels, but this shit? I don't know man. 

Disabilities ain't no game man. People are born with it and have to spend the rest of their lives living with something they have no control over. And I could tell this is something slept on because according to my computer "ableism" isn't even a word. 

And no I'm not saying ableism is a greater issue than racial discrimination. Nor vice versa. I'm just saying that it's fucked up. Just like discrimination in general is fucked up.

Just like the world in general is fucked up. 

Just like everything is fucked up.

So not even sure if she's gonna read this considering the last experience she had with a ranter, but Addi!! I love your rants honestly and I could relate so much. I learned more from you about things I will never learn in my years of education.
