Culture Appreciation & Acceptation

I think something that really gets me mad is when I see Africans claim that black people (NOT African American but just black), are appropriating their culture. And I just seem ... shook asf because most talk of it as if they're disgusted to see us do something from their culture. They say we shouldn't wear Dashikis or take any cultural dance moves from them because we aren't African and/or weren't born in Africa.

Right as if it's OUR fault that we know NOTHING of our background and where exactly what country in Africa Europeans took our ancestors from.

It's not a crime to let us discover the culture we were stripped of. Yeah we aren't African, but damn right I got African blood flowing through my veins, and I have the right to find out who I am, and who my ancestors were. I just think it's right. Don't hate because we're wearing Dashikis yet fail to understand that it's not our fault that we don't know know what we are.

Hell we are considered BLACK. Can't even call ourselves African American because we aren't straight up African. We are Pan-African (of or relating to all people of African birth or descent). But we still are considered Black.

I think it's culture appreciation if anything because we're appreciating the side of us we were never able to see. And to go even further, it's culture acceptation. Accepting the fact that yes you are Black, yes you have African blood running through those veins of yours, yes you have history MORE than slavery. 

So please stop shaming Black people for not knowing about something they were stripped from and are taught from a young age all they ever were, were slaves.
