Feminism

If you have tumblr, you most likely know what I'm talking about.

If you don't have tumblr, you still most likely know what I'm talking about.

Feminism is the advocacy of woman's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equity to men. It acknowledges ANYONE who is oppressed or discriminated against because of their sex, gender, race, and sexual orientation.

Ahh. Smell that?

I move on.

We have people that don't understand what feminism is, therefore are terrified that woman might dominate the country or try to kill all men.

Unfortunately these people are men.

I have personal experiences to back my claim up, thank you very much Ms. Wilbur, 8th grade English teacher.

So people ask me (these people are guys) ask me if I'm a feminist. I say yes. Here are their reactions.

Oh my god you're crazy too?

Why are you one?

You hate men?

But they think woman should be the dominate gender!

Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera....

The most logical question and reaction up there is Why are you a feminist?

Which I proudly said because I believe that we should all have fair opportunities in this hell of a world. The guy nodded. That was over.

The other ones. God the other ones wanted me to punch them dead in their face, like oh my god.

Crazy?? The only reason I'm crazy is because well I'm already crazy. Being a feminist didn't make me crazy. It made me realize more. Did not make me crazy.

No I don't hate men. That's wayyy too general. And hate is a strong word. But I could tell you, I dislike people who don't know what they're talking about. *Smiles*

Last but not least, no I don't think woman should be the dominate gender. And you by saying that just proved that you think men are the dominate gender. So yeah...exactly why I'm a feminist.

White feminism and Black feminism? Yeah it exists. And no it's not being racist. 

White feminism are the females you see that talk about "Not all girls wear makeup and heels!! We like cars too!! I could cut my hair if I want and not be considered a lesbian!!!" Ya know the feminism we first hear of. For some time I thought that was feminism for everyone. 

But it can't be for everyone if everyone isn't the same? 

Black feminism focuses more on racial issues that involve POC, and issues that affect all women. Unlike white feminism that ignores the constant struggle of POC and focuses on the fact that women can be masculine, black feminism talks more about sexual harrasment and appropriation. 

When black women are attack the so called feminists that fight for all women stay quiet and act as if they didn't see it. Hey Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus where are you when black women are being bashed for their hair and white women are appropriating our features? Oh wait. It doesn't affect you so you pay no mind to it. I mean you appropriated black women yourselves so of course you won't say anything about it. 

You're suppose to stand up for ALL women oppresed by sexual orientation, race, and gender but you're standing up for white women who want to have the same haircuts as men without being bashed. Like please. 

Black feminism stands for all, female and male, black or white. We acknowledge all and yet there are people out there that still wanna call black females selfish because we decided to take a white movement and make it our own.

So (black) feminism is something we all need. Not only females but males as well.
