Haiden's POV
(Seven Months)I closed my eyes and took a deep breathe before getting up from the bench and taking off my hat. I set it back on the shelf, unzipped my jacket and slid it off my shoulders and hung it back up.
I unclipped my gun from my belt and put away and locked everything back in my locker before picking up my bag and slinging it over my shoulder.
I went out during my lunch break and brought some food. Hopefully it would help mom to stay strong. Lately she hadn't been doing so well. She'd been passing out, her heart was beating slower at times and she was always tired.
I really hope she'll be okay.
I walked quicker down the hallways to head back home.
I cracked my neck as I walked along.
I had a long day.
The days seemed more stressful. My mind was always all over the place. Worrying about Mom, thinking about Angel and wondering if I could ever get my life back on track, maybe see her again or if I'd have to live with how things had ended.
I opened the door and walked into my home. I set my bag down onto the kitchen table. "Mom I'm home." I yelled.
I grabbed a glass and went to fill it with water but than ended u putting it back. I went into my room and opened my drawer, I tools sip from my flask before putting it away and than heading back into the kitchen.
I grabbed a clean and dry washcloth from the closet. I walked down the hallway and went into my mothers room.
I knocked.
There was no answer on the other side of the door. So naturally I knocked again.
Still no answer.
I opened the door and stepped inside. I walked over to her bed and picked up an empty glass from the floor and set it down on the small table next to her bed and set the washcloth next to it.
I took hold of her forearm and gently shook her. "Mom? It's time to get up, you have to take your medicine."
She didn't move.
My heart beat faster against my chest. My breathe came in gasps. I quickly took hold of her wrist and felt her veins, a slight pulse was still there, but it was weak.
I stood up and threw the covers off of her. I leaned over and scooped her up in my arms and held her to me and ran. I ran out of the apartment and ran towards the medical wing.
Some guards looked at me skeptically but didn't say anything.
Looks like the nice guards are on duty right now.
I ran into the medical wing, out of breath. Dr. Griffen stood up from her desk by the entrance wide eyed. "Hello Haiden. Follow me this way." She walked quickly into the room with beds and led me to an empty bed.
She pulled the blankets back and I carefully set her down. I took a step back to give her space to work.
I looked at my mother and her nutmeg colored hair with small streaks of grey and her closed grey eyes that may never open again.
