Haidens POV
(Ten Months TwoDays)

I finally had an off shift today. Bellamy told the captain that I was working a bit too hard and immediately he took my name off the schedule and told me he needed me but would only accept my help if I was in my best condition.

I sighed as I ran a hand through my hair.

I was tired. I did need rest, but whenever I closed my eyes I saw her tear stained cheeks, her watery eyes and her lips that I had just kissed as she smiled once last time, pushing me back into the vent and placing the cover over it, separating us for what seems like forever.

But I needed to get some food. I could sleep when my life was put into some kind of order again.

The jewelry was kept safe in my place. I'd sell it at some point but I didn't need it right now. I could live off of my guard salary and still be able to keep those pieces of her.

I stopped walking and looked around in the crowded hallways. I saw the opening to look out into the space around us. I looked around before carefully stepped through the crowd and over to the window.

The only other person looking out was a young boy. His eyes sparkled as he marveled at the sights that lay beyond us for light years.

I smiled before looking up.

I had always wanted to share this with her. Not having to hide, being able to walk around like friends or maybe lovers and not be told it's against law. But that's all over now. She's going to be gone and there's no turning back.

I stepped away from the window and changed routes, taking the path towards the med bay, hoping that it might be clearer.

That's when I heard shouts of my fellow guardsmen.

I stopped and could only stare as she walked by surrounded by guards on all sides, her hands cuffed in front of her.

Guards we're pushing people aside as to get her through. Most stepped away but the oblivious ones were forced aside.

Why were they moving her toward Phoenicia? It doesn't make sense.

Immediately I started walking, quickening my pace towards the guard training rooms. I knew Bellamy would be there and I knew he could tell me what was going on.

I pushed through people, not caring if they hated me and thought I was the stereotypical guard that cared for no one but himself.

I had to get answers.

* * *

"Bellamy." I called as I final led entered the locker rooms.

"Right over here Haiden." Immediately I headed straight towards where the voice came from.

I walked over to where his locker was and down the aisle. He was sitting on the bench lacing up his boots. "What do you need?" He asked as he finished the first and looked up at me.

"I wanted to know the circumstances of that prisoner being moved. She looked like she was being brought back to Phoenicia."

Bellamy nodded, looking back to his boots and beginning to tie the second one. "And you are correct on that account."

"But why? It doesn't make any sense."

"Look." He finish tying  the knot and stood up so he could look me in the eyes. "Information came in when we did her blood work. No one has ever picked it up before but one of the doctors noticed a certain familiarity in the DNA.

"They ran it for matches along others among the ark, and instead of coming up with only two similar matches it came up with four."

I get my heart stop. Four? Does that mean-?

"We figured out that her real parents had three children and yet somehow they were able to pass their children off to reliable family friends and not get caught. No one knows how but they played the system." He shook his head.

"So if she'd never been caught-?" I couldn't finish my thought but he nodded, knowing what I meant.

"No one would have ever found out."
