Haiden's POV
(2 Years Eight Months Eighteen Days)
Earth? How could they send people to earth?
All the guards that were to be involved had been informed in a meeting a few minutes prior. They showed all the names and faces in one giant shot on the screen. But what threw me off was that I didn't see her name or her picture anywhere.
They weren't going to send her. They were going to float her after this was all done.
I gripped even more tightly onto my gun.
I had to do something. I had to.
I picked up my com and went to call Bellamy when I remembered he took the day off. I sighed as let my hand drop back to the gun in front of me.
His sister was going down there. I knew he'd help me if I sent Trinity to look after her.
I just had to get in touch with him. Immediately.
I walked down below deck to the storage rooms. I was doing my rounds and knowing I might find him here. This is where he always would meet up with people to trade items or just have some alone time. And since he was a guard no one would question him. Unless it was a higher official, but we all knew that they'd never come down here.
From down the hallways I heard a voice, no voices. Slowly I walked down the hall and stopped in front of room 3D. I picked up my gun, bringing it to eye level and took a deep breath.
Slowly I reached my hand out and clicked the button, letting the door glide open.
I saw the flashlight flick off and I heard a gruff voice, probably telling the person to be quiet. "Come out slowly with your hands raised." I ordered.
"Haiden?" The flashlight flickered back on and Bellamy stepped out from behind the shelves. Immediately I lowered my gun.
"Bell? What are you doing down here? Wait, why am I even questioning this." He shook his head, but didn't smile.
"Shut the door will ya?" I turned and quickly clicked the button, shutting the door.
I felt adrenaline begin to pump through my veins. He could help me. The person who could help me is right in front of me.
"Now tell me what in the hell is going on? What kind of deal are you making this time?" I demanded. Once I knew what was happening, he could help me.
Bellamy motioned for someone to come out from behind the shelves. An older man stepped out. I don't remember ever seeing him before.
"This is Elroy, he guards a couple of the cells upstairs. I'm trying to get help from him to get me on board that drop ship tomorrow."
My heart began to pound against my ribcage. "How do you know him?" I asked. Bell and I never guarded cells, we never even came in contact with cell guards unless we were handing them off to them.
"I guard a group of cells by his sister. I guard about eleven cells in that corridor." Elroy replied.
"Who's cell do you watch over?" I asked and before I could even stop myself I added, "Do you guard a Trinity?" I asked.
The man nodded and I felt my heart beat become even quicker. "Yes I do. She's in one of the cells I watch. Nice girl. She's set to be floated in a couple months." He sighed and shook his head. "But I'm guessing you want to get her on that ship."
I nodded. "Yes I do." I replied. The man smiled at me.
"About half of the inmates around her are going to earth, but you can't leave with them. We'd have to leave after and sneak her in." I nodded. "Now let's get the two of you situated." He said with a caring smile.
The necklace of hers I had been carrying for two years weighed heavily in my pocket.
I'd be able to give it to her.
Soon.
