Haiden's POV
(Seven Months Ten Days)

Bellamy and I were doing our usual rounds. Everything was screwed up since my mother died and since Angel decided she was going to be a big bitch and turn against me.

Even though I hated her, deep down I did miss her. But she would never know about it, I wouldn't let her.

Worst off, after our rounds we were supposed to switch with guards from inside the dance.

I didn't want to see how beautiful she looked or how happy and go lucky she was or even how excited she was to be there with someone else.

I want to be there with her.

Immediately I pushed that thought out of my mind. I didn't and I wouldn't.

"Hey. You alright?" I shook my head and scoffed slightly at Bellamy's question. "I'm going to take that as a no." His deep voice sounded serious as I heard him clutch his gun, pulling it up to his chest.

"I'm fine Bellamy." I growled. I stopped and turned towards him, glaring.

He stopped and took a deep breath before he turned to look at me. "Look, I only want to help."

"I don't need-"

He shook his head, cutting me off. "When you're ready, you can find someone to talk to, to help."

"But I don't need-"

Suddenly, I was cut off as we head screaming from the corridor three in front of where we stood. I quickly unclipped my gun from my belt and gripped the handle tightly.

Bellamy did the same next to me.

His shoulders were tensed and his hands were almost white as he held onto his gun.

I probably didn't look much better.

This was our fist time being even near a crisis when we were on duty. We quickly moved forward and headed towards the noise.

There was a screaming sounding from within an apartment. People had begun to gather around the door, they looked frightened.

"Please go back to your homes and close your doors, wait until a guard comes to speak with you about what happened." Everyone nodded as they ran for their homes, some grabbing children that had left their homes, others shutting their doors as quickly as possible.

When they all left Bellamy jogged over and stood on one side of the door. His gun was set up next to his shoulder. He nodded as he looked at me. He was ready

I looked around the halls. They were now empty.

I let out a sigh of relief. I pushed myself up against the wall on the other side of the door. I nodded and he nodded back.

I put my hand down onto the scanner and the door slid open. I quickly brought my gun down from facing straight up to my shoulder and to eye level. Immediately felt sick at what I saw.

Blood covered the floor of the main room and a man lay on the floor, blood was oozing out of him, his eyes were closed.

Murder didn't happen much around here, and whenever it did it was a bloodbath.
