Chapter 49

Trinity's POV
(2 Years Nine Months Thirty Days)

"I've been meaning to give this to you." Haiden turned, moving to pull a golden heart locker from his pocket.

I gasped as he dropped it into my open hands. "Haiden." I gasped. "This is my mothers. You kept this?" I asked.

I remember I gave this to him years ago so he could get food for his mother and himself and help to pay for her treatment. "Something told me to keep this. I've been waiting for years to give this back to you."

I jumped up and wrapped my arms back around his neck, nuzzling into his shoulder. He took his arms and wrapped them securely around me. "Haiden, thank you."

"Let's put it on." He said with a chuckle as he let go of me. I stepped back and turned around. I pulled my hair up, holding it up against my head as I handed my necklace back to him. He looped the necklace around my neck and secured it.

I smiled as I touched the necklace that sat against my chest. I heard Haiden turned as Bellamy began to ask him questions about the set up and building of Camp Jaha.

'I remember when my mother gave this to me. Wait. My mother.' The necklace made me remember my biological parents and I froze for a moment, my eyes widening as my heart began to race. 'Where are the Tanners?' I turned around to look at Haiden who was in mid conversation.

"Excuse me, Haiden." He stopped talking to Bellamy and turned to look at me. A large smile was on his face as his eyes sparkled.

"What's up Trin?"

"Where are my parents?" I saw his smile falter but it didn't fall off his face as he shook his head.

"You don't have to worry, we'll talk about it later."

I didn't want to let it go but I knew for now I had to. I just nodded and watched as he turned back to face Bellamy. It was suddenly like he thought better of his previous remark and he turned back to face me.

Before he could say anything I quickly said "I'm going to see my brothers.". He looked at me shocked but nodded all the same.

"Alright." I turned and started to walk inside the main building when he called out a loud "Trinity!"

Confused I turned to look at him. "Yes?"

"I would ask your brothers what you asked me." There was no smile on his face, he looked completely serious. I could see the guard side of him coming out. It was just like Bellamy who had that same look. 'They really are good friends.'

"Alright. I'll find you later after I talk to them." He smiled and nodded.

"We'll get some dinner and catch up okay?" I nodded back.

"Sounds great!" A huge smile on my face. His smile grew wider as he turned back to Bellamy who I saw give Haiden a kidding shove. Haiden laughed as he pushed him back and I heard him tell him to 'knock it off'. I listened for a moment and I heard Bellamy say 'what's the matter lover boy?'

I laughed to myself as I turned and continued inside of the old ark.

My feet hit the metal floor, the sound echoed around me. Everyone was outside except for a small few.
