Haiden's POV
(2 Years Nine Months Thirty Days)

I was out in the forest doing some guarding, careful not to move my shoulder too much. My left arm was wrapped up tightly in layers of bandages to keep infection from the stitches and hung up in a sling. The gun was loaded and the safety was on as it balanced on my right hand and pressed safely up against my chest.

I wasn't planning on shooting anyone anytime soon, and if they didn't know how to use a gun then they wouldn't be able to shoot me.

Thinking of shooting anyone made the pain in my shoulder even more noticeable. It was pretty bad at the moment but I wouldn't let them give me painkillers. Others needed it more than I did. Others who were in very severe conditions from the crash.

I had heard screams and dove inside the drop ship. When I got in I saw someone else had snuck in and was beating a young woman with his fists as he tried to make her give up her seat.

When he saw me on the floor and my gun unattended a few feet away from me where it had slid and stopped he dove for it.

After that I don't remember much of what happened. All I know is I somehow got shot in my right shoulder blade and the guy was dead on the floor.

Then I heard the beeping. I turned the safety back on and crawled over to where Aaron and Maxwell were. I shakily stood up, and clipped the gun to my belt.

Aaron wrapped an arm around me and Maxwell did the same. I had one arm on Aaron's seatbelt and the other on Maxwell's and then we dropped.

But most of that was what they told me. I don't remember much of it at all. I just remembered searing white hot pain and then a heavy hit to the ground. All I know is that the ride down was not fun when my shoulder was searing with white hot pain and was so vigorous that I apparently could barely keep myself from screaming.

After a few days in the infirmary I finally woke up fully. When I was awake I was told by Dr.Griffen that the bullet had lodged itself into my shoulder and the ride down had caused my body to go into shock.

For days, almost an entire week, I had been waking up only long enough to catch a few things people said around me.

Through listening in my daze I found out that Mr. And Mrs.Tanners side of the ship had been hit hard. Most of the people on that side were either dead or in critical condition.

And both of her parents had died in the crash, along with an elderly couple and a baby. The rest that were in rough condition seemed like they were going to pull through.

I was in shock when I heard about her parents. Over the months of visiting them and giving them updates I had grown attached. They had become like family to me, like parents. Mrs.Tanner reminded me of my mother, her kindness and her strength and how she brought light to the people around her while keeping order.

And Mr.Tanner reminded me of what I thought of my father. He was strong just like he was, a man of few words but he brought smiles to his families faces.

But Trinity didn't even get to say goodbye to them. And I knew she would be crushed when she found out. But the problem was finding her, bringing her home and allowing her to settle in enough to tell her.

After that I immediately got back onto my feet and got back to guard duty. People objected, especially Dr.Griffen, but of course I didn't listen. So the only option they had left was to hand me a sling and have someone come and stand with me most of them time. But when things got busy with building and cutting then guards were needed to work elsewhere. And that is why I was alone.

I shuffled my feet slightly as I looked to the ground. I took a deep breath before looking back out to the woods.

And this god damn sling was itchy. The way it rubbed against the guard uniform I wore irritated the skin wherever it touched. I shifted my shoulder uncomfortably as I gritted my teeth.

'That just makes it hurt worse.'

I groaned  as I rolled my head around and cracked my neck. I reached down and clipped my gun to my belt.

And today while standing by the woods, fiddling with my sling and almost ready to take out off and bury it in the dirt, another guard who I still had not learned the name of and a young boy came running out to me.

I turned, unclipping my gun from my belt on high alert and ready to help calm the situation when the little boy yelled, "Trinity, she's here."

Before I knew it I had pushed the gun towards the young boy, forcing it into his hands. He looked at me startled but did not object. I then ripped the strap of the sling off my shoulder and pulled my arm from the sling as I jogged off.

"Haiden you need your sling!" The young boy yelled as he followed behind me, waving it in the air, the other guard staying behind. I ignored the young boy and kept running. My shoulder was starting to feel painful, like I was tugging and ripping the stitches. I probably was but I had to see her and I couldn't wait even a second by walking.

When I got close a huge smile spread across my face. I felt my eyes well up with tears. I saw Bellamy beside her, looking stronger and more buff than he had before. His hair a mess, longer and curliest then it had been and a shadow or facial heat covered his face. He looked dazed as he pointed her in my direction.

"Haiden!"

My adrenaline was now fueling me. The pain was in the background as my feet carried me even faster towards her.

People looked towards the two of us, screaming and crying, but I knew that neither of us cared. We had one another again.

She came running as fast as her legs could carry her towards me. She looked in shape, like she'd been lifting weights and running since the moment she got down here. She looked thinner like they didn't have that much food.

She also looked like she was tired and hadn't slept much in the last few days. Hear hair was lighter than the last time I had seen her and her eyes were brighter then before and now filled with tears. She glowed because the sun had warmed her skin.

And when she jumped in my arms I spun her around. She laughed as she nuzzled her face into my neck. When I set her feet down she stayed there. She smelled like earth and surprisingly clean. She smiled like she always had.

It was really her.

She was really here.

And she was in my arms.

I felt tears run down my cheeks as I squeezed her tighter. Tears ran down my cheeks as well, both of our tears wetting the others shirt. I felt the pain in my shoulder from the amount of activity I was doing at the moment but I didn't care.

My adrenaline pumped through my veins, making me not even care if holding her killed me and became the last thing I ever did. My heart was pounding in my chest like the beat a fast and never ending drum and I felt hers doing the same.

"I love you Trinity Hanson."

"I love you too Haiden Mayer."
