Trinity's POV
(Seven Months Ten Days)I stepped off the dance floor and walked over to the wall in the very back of the room to take a quick break before I got back out there again.
Another glass of champagne would be really nice right about now.
I looked around for a waiter as I walked along.
My steps were light and it felt as if I was walking on air. I didn't feel drunk mind you, but I felt better, like I lost the weights that had been dragging me down.
Damn, where did all the fucking waiters go?
I signed as I found a chair at an empty table in the back and sat down. I saw Clarke and her crazy hairdo start to bob it's way through the crowd and towards me.
I sighed as I looked down at the table.
The weights are back.
Just what I needed right now.
As she came towards me I noticed Mrs.Griffen making her way out of the room. She looked around quickly before running out.
What is she doing?
I didn't have long to think on that.
Clarke had finally made her way through the crowd towards me. She saw that my table only had one chair and pulled up another one so she could sit across from me, before she finally set herself down. For a few minutes we sat in silence, the only sound was people around us chatting amicably and the sounds of music flowing to every corner of the room.
Finally she looked towards me. "Look Trinity-"
I shook my head. "I don't need this right now Clarke."
"Please just hear me out." I shook my head as I stood up.
"You know what, I think I should just go home. My dad won't be there and I can just be alone." I went to walk by her but she grabbed my arm.
"Please understand I only wanted to-"
"I know." I whispered.
She looked at me, scared and full of hurt as I yanked my arm away and headed towards the door.
I sighed inwardly as I played with the fabric of my dress as I walked along and through the crowd.
God did I miss him.
I went to walk out through the doorway and out of the party when I heard voices out in the hallway.
I ducked back around the doorway as I listened closely.
The sound of a radio static was coming in and out. It sounded like the guard had asked him something but I couldn't make it out.
I slowly moved myself closer to the edge of the doorway and stood so I was almost halfway into the doorway.
"-Woman was placed under arrest. A guard is down, I repeat a guard is down and in critical conditions. We need guards to cover their position." The radio called out.
My eyes widened but I quickly blinked and regained my composure.
I couldn't allude to the fact that I knew something was happening outside of these walls. I was a Phoenician and I had to act like everything was always happy, fine and dandy, sunshine and rainbows as they used to say.
The call button was pressed down as the static disappeared and he began to speak. "Who was attacked?" One of the men asked.
"Haiden Meyer, stabbed in the abdomen." I immediately placed a hand over my mouth and turned to face the wall as the voices began to fade and realization began go set it.
"What of his partner?" The man asked.
"His partner Bellamy Blake is to take the rest of his shift off." The radio voice responded.
But at this point I wasn't paying any attention anymore. I couldn't get past the fact that Haiden had been hurt.
He'd been hurt and he still hated me.
But none of that mattered. What mattered was that he might die.
Before I knew what I was doing I hiked up the front of my dress and ran. I ran towards the medical wing.
I stumbled and tripped on my heels as I ran. My breathing was becoming irregular fast. I was out of shape, but especially worried, and scared. I didn't want to lose him.
I didn't care if he hated me for the rest of his life. As long as it was a very long one.
His mother would want that.
I want that.
I ran past guards but they were so worried about the attack that they didn't seem to care that I was breaking the rule of running.
I finally made it to the hospital wing and Mrs. Or should I say Dr.Griffen, looked at me shocked.
Beads of sweat were forming on my forehead and some of my hair had fallen from its intricate style.
"What are you doing here?" She exclaimed as she looked at me in complete horror.
"Where is Haiden's room?" I hissed as I stepped forward and into the room.
She went to speak but I shook my head. She then only had time to point before i held onto my dress and ran towards it.
I pushed the curtain back from his bed and stepped in before pulling it shut again.
I took a deep breathe as I looked down at him.
Slowly I took a cautious step forward. There was no movements so I slowly moved forward so I could sit down on the edge of the bed. Gingerly I set my hand down on top of his.
He looked so peaceful with his long eyelashes, his closed eyes and his tossled curly hair.
If only he could always look as peaceful and calm as he did when he was asleep.
He looked so childlike, so innocent. If only he really was like that.
I sighed, my head fell forward, my chin against my chest. I closed my eyes as I took a deep breath.
I wouldn't leave him. Not again.
Gently I squeezed his hand.
You will never be alone.
I will never give up on you, even if you give up on me.
