Trinity's POV
(Ten Months Two Days)My mind was made up. I was going to take the blame for everything if they left everyone else off Scott free.
"I don't think that would be-" Kane started but Chancellor Jaha raised his hand to silence him.
"Are you sure you would like to go through with this?"
I nodded.
Jaha sighed and turned towards the guards. They nodded and stepped towards me. "Trinity Hanson you are under arrest for the crime of going into unauthorized areas and for taking the blame of your parents crimes. You will be floated when you turn eighteen if that it what is evaluated."
My mother and father gasped as I stood, the guards placing cuffs back onto my wrists. Aaron stood up immediately and I shook my head at him. His eyes narrowed. "You can't do this! I'll do it."
Mrs.tanner, my mother, began sobbing even louder into my father, mr.tanners, chest. My adoptive fathers eyes widened but he only continued to look down.
"No!" I growled. Aaron didn't move, only blinked at me. "I have already committed a crime. My name will forever be ruined from what I've done. At least this way you can pretend that that is why I was killed."
"No Trinity please." Maxwell stood up and went to reach towards me but he froze when a guard reached down towards his electric baton.
"I'm sorry Maxwell." I whispered.
Maxwell looked up at the guard, a sad look in his eyes with anger simmering behind it. "Let me hug my sister goodbye."
The guard moved his hand and Maxwell rushed forward, wrapping his arms around my shoulders. Tears filled my eyes as I set my head down on his shoulder.
I wish I could've hugged him back.
"It's time to go now." The guard said sternly. Maxwell reluctantly let go of me and stepped back, his eyes glassy. "I love you. . . Sis."
I smiled as I looked at him. "I love you too. . . Brother." I smiled. "The best twin I could ever ask for." He smiled.
He walked back to his chair, looking at Aaron before he sat down, looking at his hands.
"May I?" Aaron asked as he stepped forward. The guard nodded.
"Make it snappy." He nodded, briskly walking forward he wrapped his arms around me.
Once again I placed my head onto someone's shoulder, not being able to hug them back. "Stay safe." I whispered.
He nodded." I will."
"Don't be stupid." He chuckled.
"I won't." He let go, ruffling my hair. "Just know you'll be fine Trin. Don't worry."
I smiled. I really hope he was right.
I was dragged from my facaded home and lead back down the halls that we can through before. Now people were lined up on all sides, watching as the high born girl get thrown into a cell just like everyone else.
When I was walking I looked down the hallway and saw Haiden standing there among the rest. "Can I please say something to that man?" The guard looked at me questioningly.
Haiden, hands clenched into fists at his sides looked on. I could see in his eyes that he wanted to act, he wanted to free me from this fate, but I wouldn't let him. I had to say to him what I had to if I were to die, and I had to stop him from doing something stupid.
Because once I was locked up I'd never see him again.
"Why would you want to talk to him?"
"If I'm going to die I must say something!" He looked at me curiously but yelled out orders, letting us move over so I could stand in front of Haiden.
I looked at him, straight into my eyes. My eyes getting glassy as I looked at him. I took a silent deep breath. A small smile tugged at his lips as he looked at me.
"I saw you the other day, I saw you save that girl" he looked at me confused but nodded understanding what I was meaning.
When I met you you saved me from myself.
"That was very brave of you"
It was dangerous but you kept coming."But next time don't be a hero."
Don't do something stupid now."Let the guards do their jobs."
Let them take me away"Things work out better that way."
This is for the best."But at least that once you were a hero"
You're my hero.I smiled tears in my eyes. I love you I thought as the guards pushed on my shoulders, making me stumble forward and continue my walk down the long hallway and back to my cell.
I love you Haiden.
I'm sorry it all had to end this way.
