Haiden's POV
(Seven Months Eighteen Days)

Dr. Griffen came in the next morning, about an two hours later than I remember her saying she came in, when I used to visit with my mother.

At that point Trinity had already cleaned herself and made herself look presentable, as if she has never been here the night before.

I smiled as I watched her fill Dr.Griffen in on my current state and saw her and the doctor become infuriated with one another, probably talking about last night.

I don't see the problem with it, well I do but I won't say to the doctor I did. I could always claim delusion.

I took a sip of my water as I saw Trinity cross her arms over her chest.

She looked absolutely stunning today. Her hair was knotted and fluff led up from not having a brush and only being able to run her fingers through it.

I couldn't see her face now but she rinsed it and her eyes were brighter and more awake, her skin clean and sparkling.

There was no junk on her face like she usually had and she seemed so happy that it made me feel even happier.

I smiled as I saw her turn around and come back towards me. Dr.Griffen followed and I had to forced my smile not to falter.

"Good morning Doctor." She gave me a curt nod before walking over to the side of my bed and pulling back the covers. "I'm guessing the bandage."

She nodded as she tapped the wound. I winced, hissing air through my teeth. She nodded to herself as she turned and left, going to grab bandages and medicine.

"Is it at least feeling better?" I turned to look at Trinity and nodded.

"Yeah, still sore though." She smiled shyly as she stepped closer to my bed, her hands were folded over one another, clasped together in front of her.

"It makes sense, you did get stabbed." I nodded

"And then I fell onto the knife." I replied.

Her eyes widened. "Are you kidding me?" I shook my head. "Oh my god." She whispered. She went to unclasp her hands to raise one to cover her mouth but I quickly reached out and snatched them, holding them down.

"It's alright." I chuckled. "I'm fine, see."
I spread my arms out wide and she smiled.

"I know. It's just a shock to hear." She said quietly. She smiled and giggled to herself.

"Why are you so far away?" I joked.

Her cheeks became stained with a dark shade of pink. "I just think it's best to keep my distance since last night."

"Why?" I joked. "Last night was nice." She looked away as her face became an even darker shade of pink as mine started to warm slightly.

"Stop messing with me!" She whisper yelled. "It was embarrassing." I laughed at her statement as Dr.Griffen walked back into the room.

Without a word she came over and immediately started to remove the bandages.

I hissed as, once again, the tape holding it all down was pulled back from my skin, ripping some hair and skin off along with it.

She quickly cleaned it, reapplied some salve and as quickly as she could she covered up my wound and left the room before I had the chance to say ow or thank you. All without a single  word.

"Wow, it's like she didn't want to even touch me." I joked.

Trinity smiled before looking off at the curtain. "She doesn't like the fact that we seem so close. She's very strict wth ark rules. She believes everyone of them should be followed no matter the cost."

Immediately my smile faltered. "Do you think that way?" Her smile fell as she looked back at me.

"Haiden, if I believed in following all rules I wouldn't be here in the first place, then again, we never would've met the second time."

"The second time?" I chided.

Her face became pink again. "Well Aaron and Maxwell made me go down the first time. Other than that I never would've gone down myself."

I smiled at her. "It looks like they broke you out of your shell." I reached out and poked her stomach.

She giggled as she took a step back from me. "Knock it off." She joked.

I shook my head. "No thanks, I'd rather keep doing this." I reached out again to poke her and she jumped further back as she giggled again.

"Haiden knock it off!" She exclaimed.

We laughed and joked for ages. She stayed with me until curfew. Tonight, I knew that I couldn't get her to stay with me. I had no reason, no way to get her stay.

I had a reason, but not one that would stop her from going. Not one that would protect us from trouble and even if it could, keep her safe from any harm.

She came over and gave me a quick hug. "I'll come back tomorrow, I have no school and Dr.Griffen is letting you be my first patient to help me train."

I smiled. "Glad to hear I'm your first." I joked. She blushed as she chuckles nervously, giving my shoulder a good and hard smack.

"Knock it off." I laughed as I looked up at her. "Do you really wanna become a doctor?"

She looked down for a moment, her feet seemed more interesting than anything else in the room. "If I can keep visiting you and help people, then yes." She looked up at me, a sad smile on her face.

"You don't have to do that all for me."

She shook her head. "I don't mind. If I can get enough pay then I can give it to those who need it, ya know?" I nodded.

She looked back down at her feet again as she sighed. I smiled devilishly as I thought of an idea. I reached out, pulling her back down and to my chest. I wanted to hold her for at least another minute, just to hold me off until she came back tomorrow morning.

"Haiden, I have to go." She laughed as she hugged me back quickly before suddenly pushing against my chest. "I'll see you tomorrow." She said, laughing, her smile still back on her face but a hint of sadness still lingered.

"See you tomorrow." She looked back at me. She waved as she opened the curtain. I lazily waved back.

And as I watched her go I felt a pang in my chest and all I wished was to continue being friends with her and to live a life.

I wanted to do what my mother said.

I wanted to be happy.

I wanted to be happy with Trinity.
