Haiden's POV
(Seven Months Seventeen Days)
Dr. Griffen was finally able to pull Angel away from me, but not for very long. The second she went to help me sit up she was back my side and helping to support me, the biggest grin on her face spreading from ear to ear.
It reflected and twinkled in her eyes.
I don't think I had ever seen her this happy about anything.
Immediately after I was situated she was shooed away again. The furthest she stood was the end of my bed, and from where she was from the moment she saw I was awake this felt like eons away.
Dr. Griffen checked my pulse, my breathing, heart rate and everything else from head to toe.
When she was satisfied she placed her stethoscope back around her neck and a relieved smile spread across her face. "Everything seems fine. We just need to watch you on that stab wound of yours."
I smiled back at her. "I'm glad to hear it."
She nodded back. "Now, I changed the bandage this morning so I'll change it again now. Let me get some supplies and we'll get this fixed up for you."
She turned and opened the curtain before closing it behind her, leaving me and Trinity alone.
Trinity bounced on her toes as she ran towards me again and engulfed me in another of her big hugs. "Oh my gosh I was so worried!" She exclaimed at the level of a whisper.
I laughed as I slowly enveloped her in my arms. "What do you mean you were worried? Have you ever known me to not be fine?" She pulled back, a stern look on her face as she slapped my shoulder.
"Hey!" I exclaimed as I slowly moved my arm to rub my sore spot.
"Bellamy and I were worried sick! This isn't a time to be joking around, you could have died!" She exclaimed as she threw her hands in the air and sat down on the bed, facing away from me, her back to my legs.
"Bellamy was here too?" I asked. She nodded still not turning to face me. "Trinity please look at me." She shook her head. "Come on, please. I haven't seen your face in what, almost twenty days."
A smile crept onto her face. "I think you said something like that to me before." She looked back at me, her eyes slightly teary.
"Oh no not this again." I groaned. She laughed as she wiped her eyes. "Don't cry on me please." She nodded.
"I'll try." She whispered as she giggled slightly.
Dr. Griffen came back in holding gauze, medical tape, some medical tools and some creme. She motioned her hand and Trinity got up from her place on the bed.
She pulled back the covers and I realized I didn't have a shirt on. My face reddened slightly and Trinity giggled from her place next to me.
I reached out and grabbed hold of her hand. She stood shocked for a second before she relaxed and let me hold her hand, than she squeezed it reassuringly.
I didn't want to see the wound in my abdomen. I didn't want to see the crusted blood, if it was on the bandages, the stitches or anything else to do with it. But I knew I had to see how bad the damage was.
